Just a couple questions to the creators of TSL.

What is your reward?  What do you get out of making this particular game, free of charge for a relatively small yet hungry and bickering fanbase?   your dedication is on legendary status, but is it a love of kings quest, or just adventure gaming in general?  did kings quest touch your heart in such a way that you wanted to create a new story to sort of explain the entire series?  was it because KQ8 sucked so bad!?  ;D

Why haven't you given up after all these years?  I've visited this site and its predecessors for 6+ years.. I would always check in every so often to see what's going on and what i might expect in the future.  When I saw about a year or so ago that  you received a 'cease and desist' I was distraught and felt bad for the collective wasted efforts of the team.  glad that is all behind us now.

and finally, Is there any sort of count of how many episode 2 downloads there were the first 24 hours? or how many total since its release?

What is your reward?

Cookies.  Chocolate chip is my personal favorite.  Currently Cez owes me two cookies but I owe him three so we'll see how that goes.

What do you get...?

Really fantastic experiences, lots of fun, and hopefully fans who enjoy what we do.  You can never please everyone, but we do the best we can to roll with the criticism and make improvements based on mature and respectful feedback.

Love of King's Quest, or just adventure gaming in general?

Yes and yes.  And other games in general too, when we have time to play or discuss them.

Why haven't you given up...?

We don't know how to give up.  Everything about the project is totally free, so it's not like there's ever a point where we need to cut our losses and call it quits.

Episode 2 count?

What is today, Tuesday?  I think I looked sometime on Sunday and it was around 5000 or so.  Not as quick of a jump as Episode 1 but there's still a pretty solid stream of newcomers coming in every day.

well then,

though you might have to catch the next ferry to the isle of wonder if you want a bottle of milk

XD Awesome photo, Raydio!

Giving up? What is this "giving up" concept you present us with? The term Giving Up just isn't in our vocabulary. We just keep on going.

We are the energizer bunny. In all honesty, so much has gone into this project that giving up just isn't a option anymore, especially when the fans have told the world twice, that they want this game. It is that energy that keeps us going. We feed off all your positive and negative energy.

I admire the tenacity!!  it's great to know you guys aren't doing it for any monetary compensation, and still take so much care.  Thanks for answering those questions.  It would've been pretty sweet to do the same with Roberta Williams back in the day.

No problem, any other question you have feel free to ask, and to work with Roberta Williams would have been so awesome. If I could meet her, I would die then and there.  :)

Happily enough, Ken did actually stop by the forums briefly a while ago:

I couldn't answer any of those.  :P I was to shocked that I was on the same forum with him.

About 1,000.

Actually more like 3000. We are getting close to 8000 now, and close to 45000 for the series.

There we go, it must have been yesterday sometime that I saw the 5000 figure.
