Pumpkin flavored things are one of my favorite things about fall. That and apple picking, and fall clothes, and Halloween!!! I freakin' love Halloween. I'm already putting together my costume for this year. Oh! Halloween costumes should get their own thread!

I have to get my costume together. I'm going as the "Graham Reaper" -- which is to say, me but with a black robe and a scythe. :P

PS As much as I like apple cider, and pumpkin flavors and all these fall yummies I have to say.....

The apple cider at Dunkin' Donuts is TERRIBLE. I usually like their stuff a lot (except the "hot white chocolate", which is also utterly dreadful) but that was like "hey so we thought we'd give you this hot water that we made smell like apple, and if you think about it really hard it will taste like apple too!!!!!!"

Ok, exaggerating, but it's super watered down.

I somehow didn't imagine their cider would be all that great, yeah.

But the Cinnamon coffee is great. And their pumpkin muffins are pretty good too. :)

That pumpkin muffin does sound incredible.  I've always been partial to poppy seed as well.  And if you can get some sweet cream cheese baked in it too, then that's just a little slice of heaven.

And yes, I too love this time of year when everything comes in pumpkin flavor.  Pumpkin loaf, pumpkin beer, pumpkin everything.  I love it.  There's a fudge place near my apartment that has a pumpkin cheesecake fudge, and let me tell you, it is so good that you can't help but exhale in satisfaction at the slightest nibble.  So good.

crayauchtin

We had a poppy seed muffin on the muffin tray at work today (they do that for us during sales) but alas, I closed tonight and by the time I got to the muffin tray.......

Well, it wasn't the way I imagined it would be.

I miss my pumpkin cream cheese muffin. I'm going to get another one for breakfast tomorrow, I've decided.

I need to find one of those pumpkin muffins because they really sound awesome and delicious.

Oh, and this talk of muffins reminds me of the Muffin Top song.  Any of you guys watch 30 Rock?  If not, you should as it's hysterical.  The Muffin Top song is basically one of the histrionic actresses from the show singing a mildly obscene song about a muffin top (it's the second best song they did on the show.  The first is, of course, Werewolf Bar Mitzvah).  Here it is:

Muffins are awesome.

I've decided to post whatever I happen to be eating (except cereal, of course!) in front of the computer, also in front of one of Cray's posts.  Today it's string cheese, the captain of my chocolate army.

The thing about the pumpkin cream cheese muffin that was so marvellous is that the whole thing is JUST AS GOOD as the top!!!

...but that song was awesome.

Bah... I flout you, anti-thread revival posting message! I flout you.

Because this is the exactly appropriate thread in which to post this:

*is turning into something of a baking Ozymandias: "look on me bakerie, ye mighty, and despair!"*

That would be... a lemon meringue pie (tea cookie crust), chocolate chess pie, chess pie (back row), chocolate cream pie with meringue (chocolate chip cookie crust), pecan pie, and in the tupperware, easy chocolate drop cookies (which have always been surprisingly difficult!!... :-\ They never seem to want to solidify!) (front row).

I also baked a cake last night. :P But I don't have a picture of that at the moment... :-\

EDIT: I put the chocolate chip crust on the wrong pie... :P

I approve of the resurrection of this thread and of the myriad chocolate presentations in your pies!  Chocolate is fantastic.  And that pecan pie looks great.  Call me an arrogant New Englander, but I hold that pecan pie is the only good thing to come out of the south.  And what a fantastic thing it is!  I don't much care for nuts or overly sugary, cloying things, but put those two together with a buttery crust and I'm just in heaven.  Or melt some chocolate chips in with the pie and it's even better!

I should also note that the resurrection of this thread has led to me craving muffins.  Pumpkin muffins in particular.  Why isn't it autumn yet?

What about biscuits!? :o ...or chess pie? Granted, you've probably never had chess pie... and I myself don't care for it so much... (I think it's a ginger thing: for some reason, all the people I know who LOVE chess pie are redheaded guys). ...but seriously, biscuits and gravy, dude!?

Also... I'll post a picture of the chocolate cake I baked when I get home (though it didn't work out so well... needed more icing, didn't have enough baker's chocolate left to make enough (on top of which, it was quite late and I was too lazy to scale out the proportions)).

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of biscuits and gravy.  I'd rather have a biscuit on its own with some butter.  Maybe some honey on top too.

And, no, I haven't had chess pie.  I've not ever heard of it before, I don't think.  Then again, I'm hardly a pie connoisseur.  Unless it's blackberry pie.  I am all over that!  And pecan and apple and pumpkin of course.
