Returning again to the close-up of the counter's within (at St Georg's Rare Books) ...

There are some self-help books. In one of them we can see that the author is "Steven Corvey". I think it's a reference to Stephen Covey, an American educator, author, businessman, and keynote speaker. His most popular book was The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.

Gabriel has made good use of the book becoming a highly effective Schattenjäger.

Katie: Is the Madonna of the inset a reference to the Virgin Mary Statue at Marienplatz-Munich (GK2)? The remark of Gabriel is similar: Virgin Mary watching Gabriel.

Another good catch by Signore! :) It's mostly a general reference to Gabriel's destiny as further revealed in GK3, though, and not specifically to the one in Munich.
I've just noticed that in the chapel of Schloss Ritter has been added another statue of Virgin Mary (Madonna). That statue wasn't there in the GK1 original (Sierra).

There's no option to look at the statue, but I guess it is another hint of Gabriel's destiny.

At Schattenjäger's shrine hidden in the library of Schloss Ritter, there's a golden apple on the right side.

This could be a reference to the temple's phase at the end of GK3. 2 reasons:
- "Apples of gold" are present in the writings of King David (PSALM 23:4) and King Solomon (Prov. 25:11). And the temple of GK3 is a replica of Solomon's temple.
- When Gabriel is stucked at the scale of the pendulum room, he must weigh some golden stuff. One of them looks like an apple. See this image to compare.

What do you think? I personally think that it's a so forced connection!  :-\

1 Easter egg hidden (still not found!) - Episode 1

I'm happy to make you laugh! :D  Has anybody found already the still-not-found easter egg mentioned in your post-mortem of gamasutra? I wrote about it in a above post.

Not that I'm aware of!
So, I started searching for the easter egg in the new exterior added at police station.
I tried a lot of actions and iterations with the 3 nearly identical girls, the Rada drummer and the car, but nothing happened.  :(

Next, I grabbed the tire iron, went to all the locations, and used the tire iron with all the interactive characters and objects, though nothing happened.  :( :( :(

1 Easter egg hidden (still not found!) - Episode 2

I noticed that the "Ask the Loa" machine has 7 letters in the top row and 6 in the bottom row, exactly the same as "Gabriel Knight":
Gabriel -> 7 letters
Knight -> 6 letters
So, I tried to set "Gabriel Knight" in the placeholders, but it is completely impossible, though I even tried to set the letters in disorder.

I also noticed that all the letters of the correct password ("Trusted Friend") share the same font type and color (black). Next, I discovered that there are 3 types of letters: blacks, dark greys and light greys.

If you set all the light grey letters, "@TheLoa SayNo#" is displayed.  :) Funny, but it doesn't happen anything.

It's impossible to set all the dark grey letters, because in the 3rd and 5th placeholders of the bottom row there's no option to choose a dark grey letter. Very weird!! Hummm... Anyway, if you set all the dark grey letters in the top row, "Silence" is displayed. Even weirder!!!  :o

Finally, as always with this sort of machines, you can set other known "words", like "Reigns", "Feigns", "FryGod", "FayEnd", "FeyGo#", "SayNod" (with different colors) in the bottom row. I tried a lot of combinations of known "words", but it never happened anything.  :-[

In this folder are some of the tried combinations.

Related to the games they are. Two of the biggest. Shhhh....
I still haven't found the secret answers.  :(

But I have discovered who are behind you!  :P Mikael Palsio (MikPal) and/or Elisa Pavinato (ePavinato). These are my proofs: lunch, pinterest, barboncino rosa, easter egg and pink poodle.

I have also found the thanks in Cognition-Ep.4, GK20th & Moebius' credits:
""The Phoenix Team would like to thank
The Pink Poodle, The Muuubius Cow and Gentleman Puddle, for offering us guidance (all hail!).""
Now I know about Pink Poodle & Muubius, but I have no idea about Gentleman Puddle.  :( Is it the pet for GK20th?

Thanks for offering me guidance to the secret answers, but I have gotten lost in the way. Sorry!  :'(

When I was trying to trigger off the bug mentioned in this post by Chrury, I caught other bug in the bedroom of Schloss Ritter. See the attached images or this folder.

Must click where is showed in the image "Flying Gabriel - hotspot.jpg", a little up and right of the last candle of the candelabra. Don't matter if the window is closed or opened.

Actually, Gabriel doesn't fly, it looks like he takes an elevator. The animation is very funny. Enjoy!

I can explain a little bit here. For the bug I posted, the scenes are (mostly) set up with a 2D BG image, and a transparent masking geo for the set. This way we have the lovely painted background but the geo defines the space that Gabe walks around and casts shadows in. That tree is in front of the BG and outside the window but since the set is transparent we have to do some layer magic to get it to visually be in the right place. I don't know if it was the animation on the tree or what, but that tree kept jumping inside when we weren't looking. Took about a week to get him to stay put. Thus the comic.

And I see you found one of THOSE bugs. I was pretty sure we got all of those.  :)
What's happening is we define the spaces that Gabriel can walk in a scene. We also have a system where if you click outside that walking area, Gabriel will walk as close as possible to where you clicked. This usually works but sometimes there's some geometry in the way. Gabe clips into the thing a little bit and he floats up to get on top of it.  This is technically closer to where you clicked but it's four feet off the floor. >_>

And ya'll still haven't found the 'big' easter egg? We might have to spill the beans! :p

Very interesting the explanation of the bugs. I also like those technical details. You've explained very nice and I've understood everything. Thank you.
I must think deeply about 'big' and 'to spill the beans' :stars: . Anyway, thanks for the clue.

Do you know who or what is 'Gentleman Puddle'? I have researched a long time about that character or pet, but failed miserably.  :'(

Have you noticed that now you are a 'Silly Adventurer' (50 posts)? Congratulations!  :P

Sorry, Chrury. I'm a Spanish guy and my English skills are scarce. :( Last week I understood 'to spill the beans' literally and I've been looking for beans and big heads (Dr. John, Drachen, great snake, ...) around the game.  :-\
Now I've just learned that 'to spill the beans' also means 'to unveil a secret'. So, did you mean that you can unveil in this thread the ""1 Easter egg hidden (still not found!)"" mentioned by Katie Hallahan in her post-mortem at gamasutra??  :o

Don't worry. I myself don't know the first thing about what's going on in my department of Vatican City.

AGGGGGGGGGGGHHH! It wasn't so difficult to find. I'm getting an old Eggjäger, as Wolfgang!  :wall: Must I pull out my heart?
Very funny and good graphic exercise!  :highfive: See the attached image or this link .
"What do you know ..." reminds me TSL and a certain womanizer-failure as a writer loser to be shadow hunter kinda werewolf, Grace is gone, bad hair, act brave, dude ...

Thank you VERY VERY MUCH!! The Pink Poodle watches us all. All hail!

A few weeks ago I sent Mikael Palsio an email about the Gentleman Puddle. He replied kindly to me and unveiled some details:

- ""Gentleman Puddle hasn't appeared in any game.""

- ""I drew a picture of a puddle for Elisa with a tophat, a monocle and a mustache."" So it's a true Gentleman puddle. **Elisa is Elisa Pavinato, nickname: ePavinato**

- ""Then we deviced a love triangle between the Poodle and the Cow with the Puddle looking suspiciously at them from a glass jar."" **the Cow is Muuubius**

Other crazy in-joke between Elisa & Mikael!  :D

See the attached image or click on this link. I think that the picture of 'Gentleman' Erica could be a homage to the Gentleman Puddle, because the authors of the artwork are Mikael, Elisa and Rhonda Bowlin.

I like the foot action at the end, like he's balancing up there somehow. An amazing feat.
