Huh. That's news to me.

I have a feeling the angry knee-jerk reactions are going to continue until the entire season is finished. Which is pretty much what happened with TSL, now that I think about it.

Count me in with the kneejerkers to TSL. Hated it, hated it, hated it when it was first released because of how it messed around with the lore. Now, I'm very sorry I was so harsh. I guess I was just mad because they weren't Roberta Williams/Jane Jensen and I felt like they had 'no right' to rewrite the lore. But then again, these games didn't really have strong connecting backstories....

Numbers

Yep. The original games never could keep their characterization straight, or even the layout of Daventry. Forgetting about the extreme liberties MoE took with the inside of the castle, the layout of the countryside was different in between KQ1 and KQ3, with the well in a completely different spot in both games. And of course we have the rather glaring inconsistency between Rosella's personalities in KQ4 and KQ7.

Graham's characterization was mostly the same in his cameo at the end of KQ6 as it was for the entirety of KQ5, and having the same voice actor twice definitely helped. I liked Graham's portrayal in the AGDI remakes as it matched up with the main games--again, besides MoE, wherein he inexplicably gained a British accent. I like Graham the most in TSL as his portrayal there feels like a logical next step for a man who has been through a lot of stuff in his life but still won't back down from the challenge when his family is in danger.

Have you heard the (thankfully) cut voice acting of Graham from KQ7? It's a totally different, stuffy sounding voice actor and he sounds goofy.

Yeah, I've heard it. It was...pretty bad.

FWIW, my fave voice will always be Captain Saladin in KQ6, which incidentally was voiced by Tony Jay, best known for his work as Frollo in Hunchback of Notre Dame and Megabyte in ReBoot <3  (Also did the voices of the Gate in the realm of death, the Arch Druid and the Lamp Trader)

EDIT: For the ReBoot fans out there - the VA that did the voice of Cassima also provided the voice of Mouse

Imagine my surprise when I got an email with not only a new experience, but the knowledge that the final episode will be complete next year!

In a way, I'm quite sad about this.  Although I have been inactive in recent years, I've been following the project for almost a decade and a half (from my teenage years on!), and to know it's over and, in all likelihoods, never to be repeated again, it's quite a poignant feeling.  Having grown up with so many of the people here and seeing the whole thing close enough to fruition that we've been told, it's amazing.

Really can't wait to see what you guys have come up with, in the meantime I hope to get enough free time to try out the Haunted Castle experience :)

I know I'm a bit late to the party here but
Chapter 5 confirmed for 2017?!
Rock Knight

Is it really coming out in 2017?

Numbers

They pretty much confirmed it in The Silver Lining Haunted Castle Experience. At long last, we'll get closure for both the official KQ series, courtesy of TOG, and the TSL canon as well.

Let's say we'll get the two "epilogues" soon  :)

Numbers

Well, I just checked Metacritic, and it looks like the "angry knee-jerk reactions" aren't going away any time soon. Chapter 5 has a 0/10 user rating for its PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One ports, the PC port has a 1.3/10, and the PS4 port has the highest rating at a mere 3.3/10. Chapter 5 is not doing very well on that site, to say the least.

Wow - I didn't realize TSL episode 5 had been released, let alone ported to consoles! :P

That's why I prefaced it with "Chapter 5" and not "Episode 5."

Going through those 0/10s, they're only based on six user ratings, which means that the same six people all went onto the site for the express purpose of giving the game a 0 score, probably not having played it first. The 1.3 and 3.3 scores went to the PC and PS4 ports respectively, which more people have rated, hence why the scores are slightly higher. It's important to note that the PS4 port still has a respectable 78/100 rating from the critics.
