Well, I live on the other side of the Atlantic so sorry to disappoint you!

Glad Halloween is something of a good natured event over where you are from. Where I come from, Halloween is an excuse to steal, mug and on occasion murder people. As such I arm myself to the teeth on Halloween just in case.

Personally, I don't celebrate Halloween...but I enjoy having a fun go at it.  Last year, I dressed up as a Scottish girl...the year before, an angel.  I think the kids enjoy seeing an adult having fun and being dressed up as she is handing out the candy.

You would probably get robbed in the street over here via violent youth gangs! Terrible really, but it usually never gets very bad at all so hopefully I can rest easier this year!

Sorry, Gordon Bennet is another British term (and an old one and that!). Basically it is another word for "Good Lord" or "Blimey."

It was also the name of a very early road race in Britain, the "Gordon Bennet cup," but that has no relation to the term (only a place name)
