Episode 3 will officially release at 6 PM EST tonight!

We are releasing both versions tomorrow - one that will install just Episode 3 over previously installed Episode 1 and 2 versions, and another that has all three episodes in one big package.

The patcher version will be just under 500 MB (I'm fairly certain, I haven't finished building it yet but I'll post a final value here when I do).  IMPORTANT NOTE - The patcher does take a good while to run on some computers as it is doing quite a bit of work in uncompressing, comparing, copying, and re-compressing.  If it's still open, it's still running.

The full version with all three is going to clock in at around 1.3 GB (again, final number to come in a while).  The functionality of both is exactly the same, so if you already have 1 and 2 installed from the previous FINAL release (so not counting those of you who got an early download of Episode 2, sorry you'll have to get the big one) then go for the patcher and install that one.

Correct. Unless we decided to opt for super-HD graphics between now and last night when I last saw the build. Which is quite unlikely.

Bah, tomorrow afternoon... I'll be on a plane heading to Europe... So no chance of playing it on the plane.  :-[

Sorry - I thought you were talking about the installer. No, the SVN copy is the real thing. There are still fixes coming in, so you never know... :suffer:

A lot of planes have in-flight Wifi now. Do you know if yours does?

Sorry - I thought you were talking about the installer. No, the SVN copy is the real thing. There are still fixes coming in, so you never know... :suffer:

My internet isn't good enough to download all the various press builds. SVN works easier because all the updates are in short bursts, not full fledged packages.

Definitely. I know a lot of planes leaving Logan Airport in Boston (the closest airport to me) have in flight wifi. Or at least almost all of Jet Blue flights do. I can't vouch for other plane companies.

Jet blue is pretty reliable too... I don't recall ever having an issue with Jet Blue... Although I've never used their in flight wifi. The prices for it are sky-high. Pun intended.

Hehe.  On a similar note, I think a hillarious idea for an easter eqq would be for the game to MOMENTARILY return to lo-res, 8-bit, 16-color graphics. Just a quick scene to lighten the mood for us fans.  I can think of a millions ways to work this in the game.  Now if it's technically possible, I wouldn't really know.  Wrong forum section, I know... :-)

We've got some ideas in the works for April Fools, but we haven't committed to anything yet.

On a related note, Maxis did that with The Sims 2. I was too dumb at the time to realize it was all for April Fools... They announced that the entire game was being shifted to 8-bit graphics and demoed the Sims 2 Blocky Shop or something like that. Come to think of it, I'd actually like to see an 8-bit version of the Sims... The portable games don't count, as technically none of them are 8-bit... Closer to 16 or 32.
