I may have missed another thread about this and if I did we can merge it but is this game actually any good?  The demo came out on PSN and I played it and really could not stand it.  The animations seem SUPER choppy and the gameplay just feels subpar for such a big company.  Does it get better after the first ten minutes?

Dunno. Got the first part for free, but not installed it yet. Heard mixed things about this game, too.

The story is very well written and fits the humor and tone of the movies.

However, that's about where the good points end, unfortunately.

The main problem is a complete and utter lack of any challenge.  It really is just a bunch of clickable cutscenes joined together by the absolute lightest of puzzle elements.  There is no exploration at all.  All puzzles can be solved by clicking the few labeled hotspots in any given scene at any given time.  If that doesn't work, try clicking your inventory items (of which there are only a handful.)  And if you take too long, the game will just tell you how to proceed (or you can click the ridiculous HINT button and it will tell you what to do.)

Really, just insultingly bad "game" design.  Clearly aimed at the lowest common denominator of intelligence.  Really really sad.

I paid for the season expecting something closer to Tales, which I quite liked, but this is BY FAR the weakest Telltale game.  Calling it an adventure game almost seems like a misnomer.

But anyway, the story is good, and the voice acting is awesome.  I'll see it through because I am a fan of the films and enjoy the characters.  But I pray to God that this is not the "future of adventure gaming."

I will even go so far as to say this:  With all of my complaints about TSL's story and tone, TSL is VASTLY SUPERIOR to BttF as an adventure game--VASTLY SUPERIOR.  Haha...So I have to give you guys SOME credit.  ;)

I suppose the fact that this was probably the absolute shortest demo I've ever played of any game should be a bad sign.  I agree that the voices were spot on but the demo just didn't hook me at all.  If you say the story is good I may still go for it.

Also thanks for the compliment, I knew you had it in you somewhere!

Ya, I heard it is not a very good game. :(

Kind of disappointed about that because back to the future is one of my favourite movies.

Lamb pretty much hit it spot on. Story-wise it is absolutely captivating and totally captures the essence of the original trilogy! Fantastic! I can't wait to see what's next!

Gameplay-wise, it is utterly abysmal. I didn't even think Telltale could stoop that low. I'm hoping it was merely to garner fans of the movies who don't know how to play games, let alone adventures, or we're in big trouble for their other games...
