I downloaded the full 3 games as suggested and I was able to open and play the game once and now when I try to open the game I get this....

I have downloaded the game twice with the same results. I am at a loss as to what to do now.

Make sure you have the most current video driver from your computer manufacturer's website (not from Microsoft), and also maybe try running the game's configuration tool and changing around the game's detail level or taking it out of fullscreen mode.

Thanks so much for your help wilco, I updated the video driver and so far it seems to be working fine even on my 1440 x 900 screen.  :)

I guess I spoke to soon. It worked fine twice and it is now back to doing the same thing. I also tried using the 1024 x 768 screen but it did not help either.

wilco64256

Are you running the game in fullscreen mode or in a window?
Weldon Hathaway

Nefertiti

I have done both, full screen (1440 x 900 ) and window (1024 x 768 ) and it acts the same in both.

I just tried the 800 x 600 and it still doesn't work.

wilco64256

Where did you get that new driver?  Was it directly through Windows or from the computer/video card manufacturer's website?
Weldon Hathaway

Nefertiti

The new driver was from the video card manufacturer's website.

Try running a program called DXDIAG on your computer, then take a screenshot of the Display tab and save it as an attachment here.

I think maybe I might have found the problem ( I hope ) I went to the configuration screen and unchecked all the boxes and set it on low. I have tried restarting the game 3 times and so far every time I have started it it seems to work fine. If I run into anymore problems I will let you know but for now I am able to play this great game you have kindly made for us. Thank you so much!!!  :)

wilco64256

Yeah sorry I should have been more specific about that up top - sometimes it's good to set everything as low as possible and then add some elements here and there to see what works without making it crash.

No problem, I am sure you have a lot going on now, thank you for the help you have given me.

I am back with the same problem. It really is weird that it worked perfectly 3 times and then would go back to not loading at all. As far as the directx thing I am having trouble doing it as an attachment and all the info is really long and I am a bit concerned about posting it in a forum.

wilco64256

That's fine, just take a look on the Display tab of that program and tell me what it says about the type or name of the video card, the amount of memory, and the driver version.  Thanks!

Video Card: NVIDA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

Memory: 1336MB

Driver Version: 8.17.0012.6099

I did have the earlier version before I updated to the latest one and it worked the same way with the game.

Do you have multiple monitors or multiple processors in that computer?

Well, the 6150SE is an integrated graphics chip which uses your computer's memory as it's video memory (referred to as TurboCache) along with 128MB of dedicated memory.

How much system memory are you running on this computer?  Vista requires 1GB of RAM for it's own use, but 2GB's is recommended so programs have memory available to work with.  If, for example, your computer only has 2GB's of RAM installed, Vista is using up 1GB of that and the remaining memory is being used up by the 6150SE's TurboCache, which would leave no memory for programs to work with and would result in application crashes such as what your experiencing with TSL.
