Their both sandbox game you can do anything you want pretty much its not a game thats possible to beat in an hour. The story is of  in a land called Calradia the Swadiea Vagirs Kheirigts Nords Rhodoks (and one that was added in warband) The Sulstnate

In combat you can be on a horse or on foot you can attack ti the left right up and thrust combat is pretty simple but its fun you can take on quest like to escort a caravan from Tihr  to Uxhal (witch would get you like 300 denars) witch isnt much! espessialy when you have to support like 100 peoples salary (getting that many troops will not happen for a LONG time the game has this EVIL learning curve.) YOu earn more denars you  save up you buy that BEAUTIFUL LEATHER ARMOUR thats better than you sack cloth and then you start dreaming about that 1000000$ plate Armour *sigh* (iv played for 2 years and without cheats never gotten it >_<) but thats it if you want to know more GO here http://www.paradoxplaza.com/Mount&Blade/
