It really does! I'm glad to see a commercial, original product from Himalaya that gets back to the KQ/QfG roots of theirs. I never played Al Emmo--the setting & so forth didn't really interest me. This I'll definitely be checking out!

Maybe it's just me, but I hate the wild west. I can't stand cowboys. Unless there are aliens involved. This game? I've already got a pre-order down. 'Nuff said. I'm loving the looks of it so far. Granted, I should probably play QfG a little more to get accustomed to the style, but I'm waiting until gog puts the series online...

Wow, this looks very King's Quest. Definitely going to play this. Al Emmo was more like Leisure Suit Larry.

Really? It looks more Quest For Glory to me. Either way, I WANT IT! !!!

I would find it interesting if the game concludes the whole The Father storyline. You know completely avoid direct King's Quest references, so that it would be standalone and outside of any C&D. He definitely could be a villain in other fantasy adventures. The whole Ascension storyline can be adapted around this new land.
Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg

Has anyone played Al Emmo? I think I played the demo or something, but the voice acting was rather repulsive.

I don't mind western stuff, though it's not my favorite.

This game looks like a KQ/QfG mash-up to me actually. And huzzah to that!

I really enjoyed Al Emmo, and was actually hoping for a sequel. For those who haven't played it, you could export a save file at the end contained info on certain optional things you did/didn't do in the game which could then be imported into a sequel if one was made.

Still, their work is always top notch, so I'm sure this game will be great.
Heard joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says "Treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says "But Doctor...I am Pagliacci." Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains.

Did you win on the slot machines in the Indian casino and get the fake ending in Al Emmo.

By the way many things have been improved in Al Emmo v3.0. If you have purchased the game before, drop himalaya studios an email and they will set you up with your free product code.

Yes, I got the jackpot and laughed my head off.

And thanks for the tip. I'll definitely have to try out the 3.0 version.
