Can you post the specs on your computer for me?  Like what kind of video card you how, how much dedicated video memory it actually has, your operating system, and how much RAM you have?

This is happening to us now too, ever since the GF put the computer to sleep without shutting the game down. Honestly, I have never seen any game with so many issues. We spend as much time trying to get it to work as we do playing it  :'(.

Post the specs on your computer as requested for the above user please.

The addle-brained GF speaking. I'm on Vista, but thats all I know. I'm sorry, how do I go about finding the other things for you?

For those of you having display problems with episode 3, I've tested the game with multiple platforms and configurations, and here are a few things you can try:

First, make sure you have the latest display driver for your video card. If you are using default windows drivers, or the driver date is from anything before 2011, you probably need to update them.

In Vista\Windows 7, if you are not seeing video when you resume from sleep, set the game for compatibility with XP by right clicking the exe and going to the compatibility tab, or set it to run as administrator.

Another issue I had with Windows Vista\7 is hdmi and high res displays not showing video correctly, or in the wrong resolution. To fix this, make sure you have the "disable scaling with high res dpi" checked. This option can be located by right clicking the tsl exe and selecting the compatibility tab.

Finally if you are using an Nvidia card older than the 7200gs or an ATI card older than a HD2600 series, you may want to disable OpenGL rendering in the options page. That may be responsible for many of the seemingly "random" hangs, where what's really happening is the video card throws an exception with OpenGL code it can't process.

Hope this helps some of you get back in the game.

Run a program called DXDIAG on your computer and you can find those pieces of information from the general tab and then the Display tab for the video card memory information.

Yeah you'll definitely want to hit up your computer manufacturer's website and go to their support section to see if they have a newer driver for that video setup - those Intel chipsets struggle to run the game unless you set everything as low as possible and uncheck the box to have the game running in fullscreen too.

We already updated all the drivers and put the graphics down as low as possible. It worked to get the new episode running when I first started the game, but ever since I put the computer to sleep without closing the game, it's reverted back to the same problem it originally had. Only the old solution isn't working.

Try right-clicking on the game file and choosing the properties, then set it to run as an administrator in compatibility mode for Windows XP, see if that has any effect at all.

Yeah...I can't do that. I tried, but it will not let me click the option to run as administrator. It's faded and won't let me interact with it. I've tried to find a way around it, but I have no idea why I can't. I'm supposed to have all administrative rights. Any ideas?

wilco64256

When you right-click on it and choose the "Properties" option do you get anything on the Compatibility tab?

Are you clicking on the icon to run the game that's on your computer's desktop or are you doing this to the actual tsl.exe file that's in the folder where the game itself is installed?
Weldon Hathaway

I've done it to both. First the short cut and then I when through to the actual file. The result is the same. Did I break the game, or is my computer the problem? And should I just uninstall the game, then reinstall it? Would that maybe work?  I just want to be able to play again...
