So... some of the directors and myself spent some quality time with Jane Jensen. Read all about it and take a look at the pics! I particularly like the one of the whole group. I almost feel the urge to title it "Jane and the invincibles" *grin*

That is flipping awesome Cesar :) It looks like you all had a wonderful time together. Is Jane a good cook? She has access to the food right from the source!

It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. What kinds of questions did you ask her. What's next for Jane. Did you learn anything from her to make you better game developers. Does this mean Gabriel Knight with Phoenix is happening. You are living the true adventurer's dream. Wish I were there. *stops to breathe* :)

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
I am so, so happy that you guys had the opportunity to do that, what a blessing! And truly, what a compliment to you and the rest of the team, Cez.  She obviously saw something she liked in The Silver Lining, and something she liked in you.  Congratulations on meeting your idol! !!!

Wow :D

I only recently started playing GK but I'm already completely blown away by it. It feels like an amazing step forward for games *now*, so it must have been absolutely amazing back then. You can count me as a huge fan of Jane's work.

So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

Though I never played gabriel knight, I can only guess at what meeting an idol must be like, and at their house?
I will say, I am stoked at your experience. Indeed a gift from life. One in a million chance.

I, too, just started playing Gabriel Knight. But I'm very happy I did. I completed 1 within a week, and I'm now very far into 2 (I just started chapter 4 last night. I started it around Sunday or so). Jane knows how to make a game. I'm going to try taking cues from her on any games I try to write down the line. She's an inspiration, that's for sure... In fact, I think I'm actually going to play more Gabriel Knight right now rather than The Sims Medieval, which I just picked up today... The game is just too hard to pass up!

I just gotta say again.  This is a pretty outstanding post. If more sierra type games came out, or if you guys shared mutual inspiration, that is a blessing indeed.  And that house looks awesome.  It somewhat reminds me of the houses up in coarsegold and oakhurst california where the original sierra hq was. Huge houses with tons of land and animals,  though mostly wooded when your high up.

This is absolutely amazing. I'm so happy you guys had the opportunity to meet such a legend.

She seems like a gracious and generous host.  How very cool.  Not many people would open their homes like that!  What a cool trip.

Oh, and I have to add, the GK2 Location Tour we linked to on youtube? Is not only really cool, but has some hilarious videos in it! The guy & his wife who went on the tour did some great editing with clips from the game. You get more out of them if you've played, naturally, but some are still worthwhile just for amusing edits and effects.

Also, it's pretty cool to see clips of the real locations that were woven into the game itself. I always find it really cool when stories incorporate real places, myths, etc, like that.

Having just finished Gabriel Knight 2 like literally five minutes ago, I must now state the following: Jane Jensen is amazing. I think I'm joining Cez on the praising Jane train (hey, that rhymes... I didn't intend it to though...). You can read my impressions in the gaming talk board.

Did she find the allusions to GK in TSL? ("What can you tell me about Voodoo?", etc.)

I didn't find that one... I'll have to replay episodes 1-3 to find that one...

Yes, and she had a huge laugh about it.
