I think in the last episode, at the last confrontation with the villain!  Graham will triumph by tossing a custard pie at them :P  Custard Pies! Hated by Yeti(s?) and evil wizard overlords everywhere!  That is how it should end...  and then Graham will be arrested because he stole the custard pie that he found sitting on a bench and he did not pay 1 silver coin for it! >:P  Ok I'll stop being insane now...  custard pies @_@

Arkillian

Hmmm... I'm not an evil overloard yet... Just a powerful wizard. Apparently I only need to fear Wizard's slaves... XD

But I wonder if you can handle the actual real ending:

In the middle of a fight with a huge baddie at the end of Episode 5 Graham suddenly blacks out again and then we see a cutscene of
Keanu Reeves suddenly waking up and falling out of an Animus
and then he just looks at the camera and says
"Whoa."
and then we fade out with a "To be continued...?"

You forgot him saying,
"I know Kung-fu". It's a Saturday Night Live Celebrity Jeopardy reference. The one with Keanu Reeves.
Keanu Reeves in The Matrix ftw.

Really?  Hmmm.  See, I hated The Matrix--every last miserable second.  :-\ And this is not like with TRON where I just didn't get it and was able to come to appreciate it later, I absolutely DETEST The Matrix.  I've watched it four times and have seen all three in the series, but ugh.

I am one of the few that I know who didn't like it, though, so maybe there's just something wrong with me.

Everything about The Matrix is awesome: the existential quest, the action sequences, the soundtrack and sound effects, the technical excellence of the camerawork, the choreography, the allusions to other genres, the general visual presentation, etc.

Why do you dislike it?

Well, I tried to like it, I really did.  I saw the first one in theatres and watched the rest of them several times with a group of my friends.  But to me, it was just campy and boring.  And I'm all for a healthy dose of camp, but the cheesy one-liners and smugness of the characters was just a wee bit over the top to me.  And the whole concept of the movies, I felt, was just weird and silly.  The "allusions to other genres" was a cool idea at first, but after awhile I felt like it was just too many things going on at once and I got lost and bored.

Not to say they're not good movies; I will repeat that I am one of the few people I know of that dislikes them, so they must be doing something right.  But it's really not my kind of film.  And hey, my favorite movie is Moulin Rouge.  There are pages and pages of reviews that go on and on about how ridiculous the concept of THAT movie is--Nicole Kidman as a singing prostitute, a sappy hopeless romantic who is head-over-heels in love with her even though she sells herself, and all kinds of weird remixes of unoriginal music.  I'm not saying that The Matrix is a terrible series.  I just personally didn't like them. :)

Arright, that's fair.

On the topic of one-liners: For some reason I enjoyed them in The Matrix ("I know kung fu", "Dodge this", etc.) Perhaps it is because the one-liners are surrounded by thought-provoking and succinct writing ("There is no spoon", "You think that's air you're breathing?", etc.)

Yeah, most people dig 'em. The "thought-provoking" lines are quite interesting, and I actually enjoyed some of those.  I mean, the questions of "What is reality?" and "Is it real because I believe it, or do I believe it because it's real?" are worthy of making my brain itch...or, as Austin Powers would have it said, "Ohhh no, I've gone cross-eyed!" ;D

The Matrix films were actually an allusion to our current reality: how so many people go on living their lives unaware and ignorant of the true nature of the world.  It was a brilliant filmseries in my opinion.

But it's based on the best opera in the world! :P

EDIT: Besides, the fact that she sells herself doesn't really mean she's incapable of being loved. :P Courtesans were a very important part of French society for several centuries, the upper-class ones even being extremely well-read and educated. :P Many came from humble backgrounds and actually moved up in the world. :P The film takes a ridiculously 21st century take on it and makes it seem soul-crushing when it really only is from a modern perspective. :P

Oh believe me, after having had Moulin Rouge as my favorite movie for the last ten years, I definitely get that, Deloria! I've done lots of heavy reasearch on it over the years, I was just making a point to Doon. ;)

Thank you for being so reasonable. :P Most people don't get that not everything is applicable to the present, especially if it's from a different time and culture and social climate. :P

Moulin Rouge is also one of my top 10 movies. But I also dig the Matrix a lot. Although, when I rewatched the trilogy recently, it wasn't as good as the first time around.

But anyhow, how did this become a conversation about Moulin Rouge and The Matrix?
