What the heck is Moulin Rouge? The Matrix was awesome. Topped only by Inception.

Inception was a great movie, but honestly, a bit overrated. The Dark Knight stayed with me for far longer than Inception did.

Inception is good if you like eye candy ;) Or the concept of the movie. The rest of it is bulk standard action. I'm an action fangirl thoguh so I can hardly disapprove ;)

What I'd dig is an Inception fan story or RP game. It's actually an AWESOME concept. Problem is, it'd be difficult to top the movie for plot. What do you do? You can't go deeper than the shore of you conscience so you couldn't 1up it.

Funny. I thought TDK was overrated (good as it was).

I don't think Inception or The Dark Knight were overrated. Both were very good movies, and although they weren't masterpieces, they had solid acting, action, and ideas that actually made me think after leaving the cinema.

I'm just saying a bit overrated. It was definitely a great movie, but maybe it was the fact that I went in expecting the best movie ever and didn't get that. I thought as well that it was a bit longer than  it should have been, by the time I was in the snow dream, I felt like it was going nowhere. I think that whole section could have been cut without hurting the movie.

On the Dark Knight, I expected a great superhero movie going in, and I got not only the best superhero movie I've seen, but also one of the best movies I've seen period. The thing grabbed me from beginning to end with the great act the Joker put through the whole movie. It was just one thing after the other, after the other, after the other. And I never lost interest because they kept escalating in tension.

Indeed.
I may sound like a tool for saying this, but I do honestly think that the Joker was Heath Ledger's best performance, at least that I've seen. Admittedly, I've only seen a few of his movies, but it was simply stellar. And the rest of the cast didn't disappoint either; I loved Michael Caine's and Morgan Freeman's characters in both movies. And Bale's Batman is pretty good as well.
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

Graham and the Silver Cloaks triumph over the Black Cloaks ( minus Manaanan ), the marriage finally gets underway, and Valanice is reunited with both the druids and her husband. Alternatively, Graham becomes a Silver Cloak himself and sacrifices over Pandora's box.

I loved The Dark Knight. Especially because it had what I consider a  beautiful message: "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." It was a surprising change after Batman Begins, which I hated. I mean ninjas are so 90's. I still want to see someone make a feature length version of this.

As for how I think TSL should end:
Graham dying alone after saving the world and knowing that his family is safe. A single tear and a happy smile. After that perhaps a glimpse of what Daventry is like after Graham. Some people remember him as a good king and some as a no good idiot who liked to wonder in the woods.

But then again, why should a story not written by me end the way I want it. That would be boring with world full of stories that end the way I expect them to end (for example On Her Majesty's Secret Service).

Ah, but that's assuming that you always expect stories to end the way you want them to...

Anyway, I'm not even sure how I want TSL to end, though there are some endings that I am pretty sure are not going to happen such as:
It turns out that Rosella all these years is none other than ... Hagatha ... who had escaped death and swapped herself with Rosella so she could stay near the royal family ... and when Edgar finds out he no longer wants to marry her ... and when Alexander wakes up he never stops singing ever - and he always sings off-key - so Cassima divorces him ... and I don't know, a giant anvil falls on Graham and squashes him.
There's only one way this all can end, mang. :3 The same way it began, with that big, fancy royal wedding!

... Granted, Graham giving a final heroic sacrifice would be highly dramatic and epic, but... the wibbly 4-year-old gamer in me who grew up with King Graham as a constantly reassuring presence of GOOD, refuses to have anything having to do with him dying FOR REALS.

Despite having killed him hundreds if not thousands of time before in my life. We all have. Admit it.

So yeah. Wedding times! No dying times. Retiring from adventuring, cool. Just stay alive, Graham.

As for The Matrix and Moulin Rouge, HELL YES, those are two of my favorite movies ever! I know the entire Moulin Rouge soundtrack by heart. I mean the ENTIRE soundtrack, not just the songs prominently shown in the movie, but the covers that were written specifically for it, and... far, far more than I SHOULD KNOW, by any rights. Haaa.
... And while you're at it, keep the nightlight on inside the birdhouse in your soul. <3

Good point. 'Course I'm sure there's going to be more to it than that.

I remember a conversation I had a while ago with a fellow American about American vs. non-American endings.  She was talking about how she always wants the big, happy, American ending, and she gets disappointed with non-American stories which don't do that (she was specifically talking about Ruroni Kenshin, which I've never seen/read).  I actually have a taste for tragedy (well, more like melancholy ... but for endings that are something other than pure happiness).  Of course, the United States has its own tradition of tragic storytelling, it's just not mainstream the same way that Disney is.  There are a number of adventure games with endings that are something other than completely happy (QfG4, Gabriel Knight, etc)

But the more I think about it, the more I think it doesn't matter whether the ending is happy or sad.  If I really care about the characters, and it's a happy ending, I will dance and love it; if I really care about the characters, and it's a sad ending, I will weep and love it.  If I don't care about the characters ... then I also don't care about the ending.

How about multiple endings depending on your choices during the final area?

-Bad Ending-

You make an obvious bad choice. Graham collapses dead on the floor when Shadrack blasts him. His family mourns for him, but not for long, as Shadrack kills them as well! Gethering his Shadows together, with a triumphant laugh, they cover the world in darkness forever. The Narrator is the only survivor, and she leaves to star in her own game seeing as she isn't needed anymore. Credits roll.

-Bittersweet Ending-

You make mixed choices. Graham sacrifices himself to defeat Shadrack, but luckily this kills Shadrack as well! Yay! Valanice, Rosella and Alexander gather around Graham teary eyed. As the Dreamworld fades away, Graham smiles, kisses Valenice and shares some sweet parting words with his family before dying in Valenices arms. Even the Narrator seems to be in mourning. Everything goes back to normal, and the wedding continues on without their king, but Graham is with them in spirit and is always watching over them. Credits roll.

-Golden Ending-

You make all the right choices. Graham is able to kill Shadrack, luckily not offing himself in the process! The Dreamworld fades away, and Graham embraces his family happily as they return home. With everything everything returning to normal, the wedding goes exactly according to plan without any hitches this time! After the wedding, everyone goes home, Alexander and Cassima staying in the green Isles, Rosella and Edgar going back to Eldritch, and Graham and Valenice heading back to Daventry for a nice long rest. Thankfully, the Narrator doesn't interrupt them for once and lets our heroes sleep with good dreams all around. Credits roll.

All I know is, we clearly state who will inherit the throne from Graham.
It's the Narrator.
Oh! And a Joke Ending too possibly.

-Joke Ending-

Make illogical choices, and find all the Easter Eggs in the game that make references to other games. Graham defeats- but doesn't kill - Shadrack. Just then, a rumbling is heard, and from out of nowhere Roger Wilco crashes his spaceship and squishes Shadrack like a character from Looney Toons! For no good reason, Graham pulls a custard pie out of his pants and throws it at Shadrack! Shadrack gets up and throws a pie at Graham, and then it grows into a pie war with Black Cloaks and White Cloaks on either side, and the Narrator announcing over it like its a sport match! Roger just stands there and gets pelted with custard. Yummy!

Sylver

I entirely approve of that Joke Ending. xD

And the whole thing is narrated by Cedric the Owl.
... And while you're at it, keep the nightlight on inside the birdhouse in your soul. <3

And everyone notices that, and they throw pies at Cedric/the camera! Credits roll.

GrahamRocks, I'm liking your multiple ending idea.  How KQVI of you! :) But, then again, how can you NOT think of 6 while playing TSL! ;)
The hard part of having Cedric making an appearance in the game, though, is that there will likely be some offensive sprite-rips and Fatalities created of that little fiend.  :P

You know, like in Freddy Pharkas when you see the buzzards killing and eating Cedric in the background (by the anthill guy).  And, of course, this;)
