What Happens When It's Over?

I was lying in bed, thinking about KQIX, (which strikes me as strange now that I think about it), and I wondered to myself, what happens when it's all over?  I mean, all of you clearly have invested a large amount of time and effort, and a large portion of your lives to this project.  If I'm not mistaken, this game is more than just a passing amusment to you, the people that are creating it.  You all are clearly talented, and dedicated.  When this project is completed, I would think that it would suddenly leave a giant hole in your lives.  My question is, what are you planning to do afterwards?  Are there more projects in store?  Or are you looking forward to a pleasant retirement from such a masssive, yet voluntary project?  Do you consider this to have been a major event in your life?  Do you think that when this is over, that you'll wish that it had never ended? or be glad that it's finally over?  This is mostly my irrelavant curiousity, so don't feel obliged to answer.  I don't mean to be depressing, but it is just something that I was wondering....
Cheers and Yay KQIX and its Staff!

hmmmm.... perhaps this will help a bit (not all of your questions):

Phoenix Freeware Online

Our goal here at Phoenix Freeware Online is to take what made gaming great in the early days, and combine it with today's cutting edge gaming technology, to produce great games free of cost. Most freeware games now rely solely on the past, using old graphics, old sound, and old stories to create their games. This is where we are different. Our artists are working to create new incredible graphics, our composers are creating beautiful original music, our writers are using all their talent to make intricate storylines, and our programmers are weaving it all together.

Currently we only have one game in production, "King's Quest IX: Every Cloak Has a Silver Lining". Phoenix Freeware Online was essentially created to work on this game, although it will live on well after the production is completed. Currently the team consists of more than forty very devoted people working on the project, and although they cannot commit forty hours a week, five days a week to the game, they manage to produce incredible work. Many question whether anything will ever come of us as freeware games come and go, most not nearing completion. We have been very close to annihilation ourselves, but we have forced ourselves to continue through the rough times and will continue doing so until we have done what we came to do.

In the future, Phoenix Freeware Online will branch out to create bigger and better games, possibly even going outside the realm of adventure. We are currently looking at several different ideas for other games to work on, although nothing has solidified yet. Each game will have a distinctly different team and their individual styles will show in the end product, however the same high quality of work will be maintained throughout each to create awesome games every time.

WOW Say, that's like the longest post EVER ;)

Say, I think a lot of your work would be done AFTER the game is released... you'll still have to handle the site & the forum, with heaps of new fans  8)

There'd be work for the rest of the team as well - debugging the game, releasing patches and new versions... not to mention giving all those interviews  ;P

Well, to be totally honest, even when we enjoy doing this a lot, it's not an easy task. Yes, KQ9 goes away and I'll feel totally empty. However, to be totally sincere with you, we can't wait to finish this game so you can all finally play it.

After that, no, we won't disappear. There are plans already under our sleeves. I can't say much about them, but like Say said, we are not going away.
