Selling stuff online

My family is in the process of moving, and I'm looking for websites that will allow me to sell certain things such as strategy guides, PC games and more. I've recently discovered Gazelle.com, and I can sell lots of stuff through them, but not everything. Does anyone know of any websites besides amazon or ebay where I can sell used game strategy guides or PC games? I want to try and clear out my house of some of this stuff to make the move easier. I've got quite a lot of stuff I could potentially sell, but I'm looking for the right resources. I'll use amazon or ebay if I have to, but I'd rather not. If anyone knows of any good resources, let me know. I've got a wealth of strategy guides backed up in my house that will just take up unnecessary space in the moving trucks and cars.

To do fairly localized selling, there's always http://boston.craigslist.org

I've never used craigslist before; how legitimate is it, and how reliable? I don't want to have any run ins with killers through Craigslist XD

LOL.

Pretty reliable. They let you set up a craigslist-style email address that will forward responses to your email, so there's no need to hand out any personal information if you don't want to. The posts are easy to edit, stay up for a week, and a ton of people use the site.

I've sold stuff, bought stuff, found roommates and apartments, etc, on the site myself. Basically use your common sense and you'll be fine.

hmm. Maybe I'll take a look at Craigslist down the line. I'm just not doing any selling in a dark alley in the middle of a rainstorm with a guy in a trenchcoat... I'd have a bad feeling about that XD

I mostly use EBay. It's worked fore me in the past.

Is it very time-consuming/difficult to get started?

Yeah you have to be careful using Craigslist.. I always make sure to have someone with me when I am selling or buying.  Another tip too is to take pictures of what you are selling and put them up, for some reason some people don't and their ads sit on there forever lol.

I'm a little weary of using craigslist, honestly. I'll take a look at the site, but I'm not sure how much I'll be using it.

YEah, pictures make your ad much more likely to get noticed.

Really, CL's not bad, just use common sense. The same as you would using any internet site for communicating with strangers. It gets a bit of a bad rep because ONE GUY used it to find people and kill them. ONE GUY out thousands that use it everyday, and frankly he was poking around in the sketchier section of CL anyways (which doesn't even exist anymore). We don't let the random very few people who do bad things via other internet sites ruin those for us, the same should apply here.

You kidding? This is America. We excel at crap like that.
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

It's my specialty! XD Well, I'll think about it. I'm going to focus my efforts on other places first.
