Well, what is it? I may use the idea in a comic I'm using if you're ok with it :) Otherwise, it's good for lols :) Discuss!!

Oooooh, a new thread!  Interesting idea, Arkillian! :highfive:

Okay, I had one the other night I thought was crazy.  The dream started with me driving on the beach, and I was drunk.  No idea how or why, but I was.  I saw a cop and I was like, "Heyyy, y'know what'd be fun?  Waving to that cop!"  So in my drunken/dream state I swerved over to it.

Suddenly, like in a video game, my car starts blinking and is temporarily immortal, and drives through the cop car.  Of course this isn't weird at all, so I pull up next to the cop all smug.  She gets out of her car and it's one of the parents from my class at work (whose kids have been out of my class for two years in real life), and I'm like, "Hey JoAnn!  I forgot you were a cop!" (She's a realtor in real life. :P)  She says, "Miss Dundas!  What are you doing?"  I tell her, "C'mon, you're not gonna give me a ticket, are you?"  She gets on her phone and walks away.

Meanwhile, I'm sitting in my car all drunk and stupid, and quite suddenly I sobered up and thought, "Holy crap, I'm going to jail!  Jen is going to be SOOOOOOOOOO disappointed in me!"  (Jen is my friend who's a police officer in real life.)  Anyway, JoAnn walks back to the car and said, "I talked the incident down, you aren't going to jail.  You just have to pay a bill of $1,800."  I'm all, "Done."

I don't remember much about it, but the premise was that I was a dog and I had to help lead a whole group of dogs out of a pound that was designed like a mansion (might have been an old mansion that was converted into a pound). And it was all cartoon, like a Disney movie. I remember the dream ended with me leading the dogs out of the pound, but we still had to get somewhere else. The weirdest thing, though, is that several months later, I had a dream that began right where the last one ended and finished the story! Weirdest thing ever, and I was pretty weirded out by that when I woke up and realized what had just happened. Unfortunately, I've since forgotten the specifics of both dreams, except for that one scene that was in both of them.
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

That sounds like 101 Dalmatians, when Sargeant Tibbs is leading all the puppies out of the DeVille mansion. :D  (BEST DISNEY MOVIE EVER.)

I have really weird drug dreams. :P

This morning I was exploring a spaceship. :P There was a ball being hosted on it, but I escaped from the ball to explore. :P And one of the rooms was filled with water and there were people who killed other people by hypnotic suggestion of suicide and took on their appearance and it was all very creepy, but I woke up before it concluded. :P And some rooms were light blue. :P

EDIT: The tomb-raiding lucid dream in which Darthkiwi was killed and then we all went to Prague was up there too. :P Narcotics do weird things. :P

Yeah, I've been told that. Wasn't quite the same, though, as I recall.

I had a dream last night that all these people I knew from high school were standing around discussing how long it would take them to write my progress report/literature review... one of them said 20minutes... 20 minutes for 20 pages... seriously? *grumbles*

Heh.  I'm the source of weird dreams.  My latest one that I remember was running from a giant squid that took over an office building where the 11th Doctor showed up, and we found out the squid was an intergalactic criminal that crashed here and wanted to probe my mind for a location for a spare spaceship, but we tricked it into a trap involving a cage of electrical wires.  He was beamed up after he vowed revenge.  Then the Doctor invited me to travel with him.
I have my cake and eat it too, until it's gone.  Then I can't do either.

Aww!  You have the Sword of Hugging +3!  All of your attacks deal affectionate damage!

Of all my nightmares, giant squids/octopus/sea creatures in general dominate.  I don't know what it is, but if I'm having a nightmare, chances are I'm dreaming up some kind of terrible sea monster.

I also have some weird dreams from time to time, I just tend to forget them pretty quickly. However, the only dream I can recall - and I'll always be able to recall since it's the oldest dream I can remember - is a "nightmare" i had when I was 4 years old. (I'm 19 now...)

Anyhoo...

My dream started with the house warming party of my aunt, because apparently she had moved into an old, huge house with many rooms and a gigantic attic. For some reason, however, there were not only the guest I would have expected (family e.g.) but also a lot of children that kinda looked Romanian... Or maybe Balkan...
Well, in a dream you don't really think that far - and as a kid, waking up from the most awesome and weirdest dream you've ever had you don't really think about the nationality of those kids, either - many years later you start wondering, however...
So, we were at this house warming, all the children were playing in the attic, which was huge and had many different rooms. Apparently I was befriended with one of those foreign kids, and we hang out in one of those rooms. Then, suddenly we heard strange noises coming from the main attic room - of course we had to check what was going on.
We rushed through the door; and there he was. An old, evil looking and laughing man was sitting on a wooden box. His appearance was really terrifying since he was all... monochrome, as if he had just jumped out of an ancient television, or something. He was sitting there, evil-laughing at us, reaching his arms in the air and bewitching all the other kids to saw several portraits in two halfs.
( ... I mean, seriously? Cutting portraits into halfs? Why would one dream something like that??!?)
"What are you doing?" I shouted, "Just stop!" - but they wouldn't listen. Horrified, I managed to run downstairs to my mother, shouting: "Mom, I think we should leave now!"
Without thinking I reached out for my coat, which was hang up on a stand - but then I froze. There was an ugly, green hand sitting on my coat, hindering me to touch it.
In a huge boom the monochrome man appeared, laughing and screaming: "Now you all gonna die!"
I turned around, and asked: "May I say something first?"
Slightly distracted and wondering he looked at me. "What do you want to say?" he asked.
"I wished everything here was just a dream."

... And I woke up in the middle of the night, shaking on my whole body, but amazed by the power of the human's mind.
Damn, that dream was just awesome :D

I had a dream once where I was at a motor camp hanging out with my sparrow friends, and I was going to walk along a mud to the other side to sit on some rocks while we hung out. When I sat down, I felt something under the rock and saw two red eyes, and a row of sharp teeth. I cried out telling the sparrows to get away. They morphed into ducks and scooted back to land. I dashed away but I was lower than them. The creature came out and it was a platypus with teeth! IT was so scary! IT chased after me, till I saw at the other side my was duckling friends were now humans, and they threw rocks at the platypus, scaring it away O.o It's my weirdest dream to date ^^;

Damar

I very rarely dream.  When I do they are either nightmares or so incoherent that I just forget them after a day or so.

My nightmares tend to be very psychological though, focusing exclusively on my emotions rather than actual experiences.  Rarely am I actually under attack or being chased.  My nightmares typically involve the down time just prior to be chased.  So if I'm dreaming about zombies, for example (zombies freak me out, yet I love the movies) the dream will center on me barricaded in a room, waiting for the zombies to come, knowing that when they arrive, I have no way of stopping them.  So the tension will build as I sit huddled in my room until it's unbearable.  Then I hear the screaming as the zombies approach, still unseen and I know I'm about to die.  Then the dream ends.

And by "ends" I don't mean I wake up.  No, rather the dream ends, then restarts.  I'm back, barricaded in the room, waiting for the zombies to come.  I've also had dreams of the zombie apocalypse, knowing that all my friends and family are dead or zombified and knowing that I could die at any minute.  Again, not a single zombie.  Just the constant despair and horror as I walk an empty landscape.  If a zombie does actually make an appearance, then it's someone I know and love, and they bite me, then go away.  And the rest of the dream is me in despair and horror, walking an empty landscape, knowing that I'm doomed and it's a matter of time before I become a zombie myself.  Sometimes the dream then changes gears to me trying to find a way of killing myself before it happens.  Then the dream will start over.

My subconscious really knows how to screw with me sometimes.

I just had a dream in which a cat had curled up in a cupboard and repeatedly knocked crystal, gold-rimmed goblets out of it and cracked them. :( This resulted in shenanigans in trying to get the cat out of the cupboard without breaking anything else. And I kept being blamed for the mess and the broken glasses. :( We also have no such cupboard, or such goblets, or such a cat. :P

Clearly, your subconscious is trying to tell you something: get a cat and some gold-rimmed crystal goblets; then put them in a cupboard. ;D

Has anybody ever heard that you can't read in dreams?

Years ago, my dad told me that, and I know they brought that out in a Superman cartoon a few years ago, but I can read in two languages in my dreams. So I dunno if that's true for some people or not.

darthkiwi

I have heard that it is possible to read in dreams, but that if you look away from the thing you're reading and then look back, the writing will change. It's the same with clocks, apparently. Presumably your mind knows that you've got a clock which is telling the time or a piece of writing which says something, but doesn't bother to store what it actually says. This is a good way of telling if you're dreaming, apparently, and can be a way to turn a regular dream into a lucid dream. Of course, the problem lies in making yourself look at a clock in a non-lucid dream, which is difficult since it's not lucid :-\

I had a dream recently where I was a character in a movie about a person who was half-man, half-troll. It was basically a supernatural slasher flick. Also, when the troll-man's ugly troll-hands were set on fire, they grew back as black, thin, scissor-like metal spikes instead of fingers. And when he infected other people and turned them into trolls (I know, I know, trolls don't do that, but my dream said they could), the people who were turned into trolls ended up with various blades instead of fingers. One troll-man had all the fingers on one hand replaced with articulated razor-blades :S

you have to make it a habit i nreal life.

always look at and pay attention to clocks.  might not be the easiest method though.   i am working on trying to lucid dream.  its crazy stuff.  i have done it before but not recently.

I don't really buy into the things "they" say you can't do in dreams. Supposedly, you don't dream in color, but I know that I have. I've only had a couple of dreams (that I know of) where I knew I was dreaming. Something bad happened, and I thought it was a good thing that it was only a dream. I don't think I've ever had a true lucid dream, but it would be really cool.

I don't remember my dreams often. And when I do it's a bad omen. I woke up from a nightmare a few days ago and had this awful sad feeling. I had an emotional hangover the whole day from it.
