The Four Winds' newest reporter has an in-depth look at Tamir, the beautiful land once saved from evil by Princess Rosella, and the developments that have taken place there since Lolotte's demise.

I should add that in addition to being written by a new member of our staff, the images are all from new artists as well, and they've all done a great job!

That's some fun and funny stuff.   Great art too!  I enjoyed that.

The way the one character talks about Ivory, makes Genesta look like an Evil Fairy. LOL.

QuoteGigi, the golden egg laying hen, is constantly chased by Genesta's snow leopard companion

Actually, according to Genesta in KQ4, the name of the hen is "Hen". You learn this from Genesta, when you return the magic hen to her in KQ4!

The Four Winds talks about the little fairies speaking the language 'Florian' (or some such), actually the narrator in KQ4 makes a big deal about how their race are incapable of speech.

Just speculating but perhaps they communicate through telepathy?

I'll avoid pointing out anything else though (as they are more King's Quest Companion related issues), mostly character naming issues.

I do have a question about Antiquas, is it supposed to be Harpy Island?
Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg

I didn't write this one, but I'd go with no. I don't think that would make a very good retirement place! What made you think it might be?

It talks about being an island off of Serenia, and having sandy beaches, green grass and what not. It also says people are 'lured' there which actually reminds me of Sirens, but could apply to Harpies!

the only other islands in the area are the Rocky Islets, which are described as being barren, or Mordack's island (which as we know doesn't look like a tropical paradise!). TSL's maps of Serenia which are based off of the King's Quest Companion maps, or the one in King's Questions, only shows the two islands of Harpies' Island, and Mordack's Island..

It would be funny if the Harpy's set up the retirement home! Trick people to coming to live there, and eat them (claiming they 'died' or "left"), or eat them after they died ('in place of burial')! Convenient constant food sources!

Ever see the movie Arsenic and Old Lace? It had a couple of old 'harpies' running a retirement home, ;).

Yes, awesome movie...

It will be another movie I'll be angered by, if they ever decide to make a remake!

I think Arsenic and Old Lace was one of the first B&W movies I saw that I actually liked.

Good article. One minor grammatical error I noticed:
QuoteSpeculation has surrounded what the net worth of the dwarfs’ finances.

To be honest, I have mixed feelings about the cover art; there are things I like and don't like about the picture. I won't go into detail unless I'm asked. I do like the rest of the art, though, especially the picture of the gnomes and the one of the ogre and ogress.
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

KatieHal

I take it by that you mean the first picture, of Genesta? Go ahead--we're open to constructive criticism. Personal taste varies, of course.

For myself, I really like all of the pictures--I think the artists did some great work for this one. :)

Oh sush Chris you're a good writer as well :P

I wrote this one. I have some assignments for future articles so y'all will be seeing more of my writing. Lolz no it was a completely fictional additional island. I didn't even think about it being the Harpies' island! All of this was from my own creativeness. I guess I need to be more canon then :P

Also Baggins, in preparation for writing this article I read the Kings Quest 4 article several times. I guess I must have missed something. Or maybe I should have looked in other sections. As I said, I came up with all this myself. Others may like or dislike it.

Also the ogre picture is flipping awesome! I couldn't stop laughing looking at it. Good work artists on this.  ;D (and silly me for not realizing this was published until two weeks after the fact, haha).

Thank you for reading and all the feedback everyone :)

You did a fantastic job with this! My friends tell me that I should give myself more credit, but I like to be stubborn lol I can't wait to read your other stuff!

Cool, cool. Ya I don't know remember if the KQ4 novel in companion (if that is the 'article' you are referring to) even mentions any character names for anyone? The magic hen's name is only mentioned in a single line at the end of KQ4 for example!

I don't remember how Peter Spear went about describing the tiny fairies?

As for that the article is definitely entertaining! The best Four Winds articles are the ones that attempt to go back and take a look at locations and material from the older games (even if they sometimes rewrite the stories a bit!).

I'm glad you liked :) I was talking about the Kings quest 4 section in the KQ companion. I have the 3rd edition. It helped since I didn't have time to replay the whole game to refresh my memory. I can't wait to write more. Y'all will like the ideas we have brewing.

I'd like to see some serious letters from Crispin just once...

The Crispin in the 'Ask Crispin' seems out of character sometimes. Ya, he's senile, like in the game... But he's also pretty serious character in KQ5... He's not nearly as silly as Ask Crispin stuff makes him out to be.

I'll keep that in mind for the next installment; I suppose I got a little carried away with the silliness of it all.
