Come to think of it, I find it amusing about how much importance is placed upon hair in society.  The length, where it is located, the color, etc.

In an objective sense, it's a bit silly. After all, hair exists solely to keep us warm.

In a subjective sense, I think it's all about image. Different qualities of hair produce different images, and each of us is wired somehow to find a particular image attractive in preference. I would guess that even those of us who profess to put high priority on personality probably have at least some physical aspects they prefer... they're just more willing to compromise.

Of course, I had the misfortune of developing a physical preference for red-haired men.
