we've had a blast making this episode, and i think that will be apparent in the final product. we're working harder than hard to get bugs taken care of. in fact, we've made some TREMENDOUS progress on a bug thats been eluding us since episode 1.  we could never find a solution to this particular bug, but we're very very close to squashing it once and for all.

The one after Episode 3 is the one I meant.

In all honesty, I'm a little nervous about TSL being fully released (when Episodes 4 and, eventually, 5 come out.) After seeing what Sega did about the Streets of Rage Remake - which took about 8 years to make from scratch - it's a big question mark how companies will react to their IPs being released under fan licenses. I don't think SoRR had a license, but what one license says can be fought, thus causing a new C&D order, as POS has already experienced.

Here's what happened when Sega stopped being the proverbial "Sleeping Giant" and decided that 8 years of work should be eliminated:

Hehe, you have read our lengthy story somewhere, right?

We've had two C&Ds already, one from Vivendi and one from Activision. The only reason the 2nd happened is because the first was never officially executed (AGDI had one from Vivendi that was executed, hence they had no issues when Activision became the IP owner). However, our fan license has been signed & executed with Activision, so we're all set, and have had a good experience working with them as well. Both Episodes 4 and 5 will be released, fear not.

Yeah, I've read the history of Phoenix Online. But, King's Quest as an IP seems to get tossed (sold) from company to company fairly often. If the IP gets sold again, or a CEO changes, there may be troubles. Maybe I'm wrong, but these companies are less than respectable with their actions, including buyouts, bankruptcies, and legal actions. After reading about entertainment companies, banks, and government officials ruining their businesses, I've lost faith in legal documents. Think about all of the "legal documents" Madoff ignored when he did what he did. I'll just haunt this site to make sure I get all of the Episodes and soundtracks before the IP holders go "Sega" on everybody.
