I love KQ VII. I grew up on Disney and this was the game that started my gaming life! I thought it was a beautiful game and the ending is what it was all about. It is different that the others but it still has its many charms. :) I love the other games as well. Each game is different and has it's perks. Look at the game as an idividual and not as a whole body? Maybe that can open some more doors? I hated KQ VIII until I looked at it as a game and not KQ. Now it is quite nice. The pace of the game suits my moods some times :P

One thing I liked about MoE is that the dialogue, if nothing else, is fun to quote.

Upon right-clicking on the mold in your inventory during the second level, Connor triumphantly announces: "I have fetched some green mold!"

And some other examples:

"Come closer, mortal.  I crave your soul."  --Tower Skeleton, a.k.a. the most annoying boss in the game

"I have no desire to die, spirit, as many a corpse would attest!"  --Connor, addressing the Skeleton Commander

"Gadzooks!  It lighted!"  --Connor after illuminating the Dragon Wyrm tunnel

And last but not least, Connor creates an ice lever and inserts into its respective slot:
"It works!  I hope 'twil not break--" *ice lever shatters*
I have no mouth, and I must scream.

"Lo, what is this? A FEATHER?!"
Deep Thoughts with Connor Mac Lyrr
"Alack! The heads do not die!"

Swamp Witch: Die, toad!
Connor: Not me, witch, YOU!

Connor needs to work on his swordplay banter.  It kind of reminds me of that scene from Megamind...

Megamind: Now it's time for some witty back-and-forth banter! You go first!
Titan: AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!
Megamind: ...okay, I don't know where to go with that...
I have no mouth, and I must scream.

Lol I totally agree.

"'Tis empteeeh."

"'Tis beyond my reach!"

"Hark, pathetic beast, why so sad?"

Way to be subtle Connor.

Connor is just too honest ;P.

Snow Nymph:  You cut an impressive figure, sir knight.
(That dialogue becomes even more awkward if you have Connor in his birthday suit as she's talking.)

Freesa:  Do I not know you...?
How I would have reacted:  I JUST RESCUED YOU FROM A JAIL CELL LIKE FIVE MINUTES AGO!
I have no mouth, and I must scream.

Swamp Wich: You fight like a dairy farmer.
Connor: How appropriate; you fight like a cow.

Lucreto: Finally we meet, mortal.  Thou hast proven more stalwart than I thought...'twil be a shame to see one such as thee die.

Connor: Look behind you, a three-headed monkey!

I like Mask of Eternity a lot. As a standalone game. I don't think it was right to call it a King's Quest. I don't think they did themselves or the fans any favors by using the series popularity. It had *no* business being in Daventry.
"If your translation is correct, that was 'May a sleepy hippopotamus lie down on your house keys,' but you're not sure. Unfortunately, your fluency in griffin-speak is too low."

We're roleplaying in the King's Quest world: come join in the fun!
