I know IA is very busy with work and life and these games but if you are so egar for testers or even if your full up a freindly thanks for apply would be nice even if it where a auto reply it would make users feel more valued as it would be a simple acknowledgement of the users mail

We try to get personal messages out, but with the volume of mail we receive, it's difficult sometimes.  I believe someone put a note up on our forums that we were full now.  We appreciate your enthusiasm, though - and thanks for applying.

No big deal man but in the future might wanna post something like that on the main page

I know that was a typo, but I can't help giggling at the idea that IA has a "man page", because I really could see that happening! LOL

Hm. Actually, I'm curious, do you guys have any/many women on your team? The only names I know from IA are all guys, so, just wondering.

Yes, actually, we do have a few girls on the IA team.  They're just not as vocal as us boys.  But they're generally very helpful - and in fact, one of them is responsible for making a lot of our graphics and backgrounds look so pretty!

I'll also say this: if you send us an application and it's full of typos, the chance of you getting hired by us is slim to none.  We like our bug reports to be easily readable and well thought out.  Also, one of the major points in bug hunting is to inspect the text and make sure it's correct (generally!) as well.  If you're application reads poorly, I, for one, don't consider the person careful enough to test for us.

D'oh!  Yes, I find it amusing.   Yep, I can make a flagrant and obvious typo!  Hahah..... you got me sir.  Kudos.

Yeah seriously, it's not really about being able to type perfectly without errors, or even having perfect grammar.  Some of the people who apply can barely communicate effectively in writing.  It's just blatantly unhelpful, and completely removes that person from consideration.  I would think this would be pretty damn obvious to most.

The Hero

actually BT I have improved my typing a lot since my AGDi Days. I don't believe I made any typing errors as what i sent was my official resume.

Yes, communication skills are essential in software testing. The developers can't fix a bug if they can't figure out what you're talking about.

Yeah, we had to let one guy go because his reports were literally filled with incomprehensible babble.  I don't know how he got through; I didn't review him.  But I wanted put my head through my monitor when I read his reports.

We also had a number of issues with people basically playing the game once and writing what boiled down to a review of it as opposed to actually going through it multiple times trying different interactions at different settings and reporting actual bugs.  Those people got the axe.
