Will be doing a blind LP of Chapter 4

Hey guys,

After yesterday's livesteam I decided that I wanted to do a blind LP of Chapter 4 of the Silver Lining. I was thinking of doing this for a very long time and had considered doing it for Chapter 3 back when that came out but was too eager to just play it instead of taking the time to set up all of the things I would need to do so.

I posted a video on my channel that posts a little bit about myself and why I wanted to do this. One reason is that adventure games are unique from other games in that the narrative of the story changes depending on how you choose to solve the order of the puzzles. When I watched Toegoff's Chapter 3, I saw that we had different ideas that eventually led to the same conclusion, which was neat. I immediately knew what to do for the "male strength" and "female voice," whereas he had the other two ingredients completed much sooner than I do before he went to finding out the male strength and female voice. The trains of thought that go into that are very interesting and different, making this warrant for another blind LP I felt.

I had the jitters recording this I think. I "um" a lot, forgot the name of Cognition, messed up when trying to remember when the original KQ games came out, made mistakes about Silver Lining history in general, and botched a lot of words. Sorry for that :)

I have my Part 0 uploaded here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzAEf6CHmQ4

I hope that you can enjoy it and, if you're interested, you can tune into my playthrough when the episode releases.

Thank you so much Phoenix Online for delivering such a wonderful product. It's been my pleasure to play these and I'm looking forward to the next chapter so I can LP it!

I have a blog!

That's a good idea! Also one could watch your video and not feel so bad they got stuck on a certain part because you did too. I will check them out when you post them!

Thanks you two. I'll try not to make too many idiotic mistakes trying to solve the puzzles if you plan on watching then  ;)

Well as asked by you supporters, I'm linking the first part here for those interested in watching:

I mostly just romp around the castle and get some stuff done. I think the commentary came more natural and entertaining to watch and listen to, and I hope that people will be interested in watching a little bit and immersing themselves into my perspective.

I'll be working through the episode as quickly as I can comfortably do, but I also work two jobs and am in grad school so time is a luxury on my end :)

Do please enjoy! And thanks for the beautiful episode! I'm sure it won't be long until I start screwing up and you can laugh at my expense  :P

I had a look.

I like your laughter, you have a pleasant voice and it;s nice to listen to your commentary. You;re a very seasoned adventurer, clearly keep all the basics iof adventuring, such as never forget to check everything before you leave lol. Touch everything, taslk to every thing and try to exchange every ite in inventory to see if it has abny effect. I played through the game at this point but I'll revisit with your playthrouh, should be fun.

good luck!

Thanks for the wonderful comment! I really do appreciate the feedback; I had no idea whether or not people liked or hated the project so far.

I just an hour ago uploaded Part 3. I talk and share a couple stories and then have a mental breakdown about halfway in because of a certain interaction. Kind of humorous in retrospect, will definitely be wanting to solve this mystery!

Hey, it's fun, I like to watch the playthroughs after I played through the game. Did that with Aquaria, .though to be fair I had some problems finishing it because of the bosses and my very poor hand-eye coordiantion,  so I just kept watching, but Aquaria is a trully impressive game. I actually did watch the playthroughs for Silver Lining too. there are a couple floating on youtube.

Just a few comments on these two parts from me (don't worry I will not be harassing you with comments on every part you release :D But I will enjoy them)

Actually I am discovering with your video some things that I have missed, like the runes, I really had not seen them or paid attention to that at first.  There will be plenty of such things, I'm sure.  And you sure know how to analyse.  And yea your theores, especially at the beginning of part 2 are interesting for sure, but then, anything can happen in these crazy lands.

Watched both 2 and 3 found myself interacting with what you're saying and nodding when I agree with your thinking. You did miss a few things in the town upon your  first visit,. but you'll figure it out sooner or later; also at some point you just know you are missing something.

It's just that.. entering the same town months after the previous part always strikes me like that: you're inebriated and excited and notice things which you kind of expect to notice, or where you expect things to perhaps change (well most of the time, you really suprised me with these runes), which causes you to miss, at first,  some of the elements that later seem so obvious. the game surprises you yet again with something you did not expect perhaps.

Can't wait to hear your commentary on when you see the rest  of the Isles of Mist and other isles and some things will become even clearer.  Also, love the title to part 3...oh, just you wait until you learn everything and see all cutscenes.

In part three @ Hahah at 2:48,; I did the very same thing, just a tad later when I THOUGHT I had the thing I needed.
-@5:35 I do think the voice sounds familiar but I can't put a finger to it either, although it seems like a voice of a a well, street flower vendor/ other lady vendor  from some period piece to be honest; it;s just the kind of voice you would hear in a period piece.

5th video is up. Took all day for it to finally work and process X_X

Thank you taking the time to comment to me, AzzyGale, and as you see I bring it into the recent video. It's called "Let's Play" not "Watch Me Play" after all, and I appreciate that you didn't spoil anything, but just gave me a nudge in the right direction.

And we're up to 9 now.

The story's been very impressive! Thanks so far Phoenix, I haven't been enthralled by puzzles and theories like what's in this episode in a very long time!

Ah- was caught up to the LPs, but now have more! Will investigate tonight :3

Cez

watching your LP :)

Narration is soft because you have to have the master volume at 100% to have the game duck the music when there's narrations on. It's an annoying thing but something we never got around to fix.

watching your LP :)

I'm honored, Cez :) I can't think of a good followup to express my thoughts toward this game except that I'd buy you a beer if I could.
