Okay so I was going through the Kickstarter Cognition website and I was again reading the rewards for X amount of money donated when I noticed this little tinsy wensy subject line Estimated Delivery: June 2012 Now I'm not trying to say this is a bad thing hell taking 6 months to complete a P&C adventure is pretty cool. But it does beg me wondering how will this affect TSL's final chapter? Because as much as I desire to play this new adventure game I'd rather see the ending of TSL first before this game is released.

I'm pretty sure there are a lot more people working on TSL than there will be on Cognition.

I almost wonder if they mean that that's when they'll start delivering things such as the monthly newsletter. If it is, that would suggest that by that time, they'll have shifted their development solely to Cognition, which to me, strongly implies that TSL will be done by then.

I wasn't sure how long it was going to take to do episode 5, since they're switching to a new engine and everything, but this would seem to imply by June.

Alternatively, it was a default date set by Kickstarter and means nothing for their development. :P

Either way, I really doubt that this is when the first episode of Cognition will be released, unless they've been putting a LOT of resources into it already.

We put in an estimated delivery date for all items--meaning, we estimate that by/during June 2012, we'll have all those things delivered. Things like the monthly newsletter will start earlier, I'd say probably in the new year.

And yes, we'll have different teams working on Episode 5 and Cognition. Obviously we don't yet have a finale date for either at this time, though.

Mainly what Stephen said.  TSL will still be totally free, so we'll be able to bring on all the help we want for that.  Cognition will be a commercial project so it will be done with a smaller team functioning under a development budget.  I will say that we definitely want to have both Episode 5 and all of Cognition done by the end of 2012 because that would really suck if the world ended next December and then nobody ever got to see how one of them ended.

or start the process of delivery. Don't forget that to get a boxed game we need to have all 4 episodes out. Same with soundtrack, etc. So that's estimated. We'll have everything before the year end though.
