Yeah all of the things you're mentioning made me really nervous when I first heard they'd be incorporating them.  I'm not surprised at all that they took that Heavy Rain style and just simplified it to death.  It blows my mind that people are still classifying this as an adventure game.

I'm still waiting for a demo on either PS3 or PC to see just how bad it is for myself - definitely not going to buy it to find out.

Sound like watching an LP would be just as satisfying than playing. If it's more of an interactive movie, might as well treat it as such.

Okay, here ya go.

I completed the first episode. My goodness, it's so ridiculously short. The entire game would probably take the length of one normal Telltale episode.

What I want is at least an explanation from Tell Tale. I've yet to hear them try to justify this kind of game as "worth it". From where I'm standing, it's just flat out laziness.

Is TellTale planning to keep their $20 per episode (x 5 episodes) = $100 for ONE regular game deal, or is that changing? I have never bought anything from them because I didn't want to get ripped off.

What are you talking about? Their episodes are usually $8.95 each and are around $30 or so for a full season. For the past couple years, though, they've stopped charging for individual episodes and have only allowed you to purchase the entire season, making available the episodes you don't have to you for free as soon as they are complete. Except with Jurassic Park, which they held off until all the episodes were complete.

My point of reference was when I went to their site a year ago or so, and saw "$20 for Episode 1" on a site ad. So I figured they followed that through. Still, though, at $9 an Epi, x 5 Epis, you'd pay about $45 for one game, if purchased separately.

Like I said, you can't purchase them separately anymore and the ad that said "$20 for the first episode" (I assume you're paraphrasing) means that you pay for the full season in advance and get the first (and only) episode currently available. Once the rest of the episodes are complete you get them for free. So really it's "$20 for the full season, play the first episode now".

Never have they ever charged so much for a single episode.....except for Jurassic Park (the whole 4-episode game is about as long as a regular previous Telltale episode). If they had I'd never have been a fan of them for this long and would never have given them a penny.

Ok, thanks for the clarification - that's why I asked. :) Yeah, I was paraphrasing the ad. It's good to know that they're not the rip-off I thought they were. (Their games just tend to be lousy. :P)

Not all of their games are bad. Sam and Max is good and so is Tales of Monkey Island. Back to the Future would require some discretion. It's definitely not the best game they've done, but it's at least AN adventure game. Which is more than I can say for Jurassic Park.
