This occurred to me while playing the game.  They frequently refer to Alexander as King of the Land of the Green Isles.  But King Caliphan is still alive.  How can they both be King?

I'm pretty sure he officially renounced his title at the end of KQVI to pass it onto Alexander. He can still be called King Caliphim as a term of respect, but as far as acting king, that would be Alexander.

It's funny how you find you enjoy your life when you're happy to be alive.

I believe the full term for that position is "King Emeritus Caliphim", but who wants to say that mouthful? In any case, it's like the US President--once you've held the office, you're always referred to by the title "Mr. President" even though you aren't in office anymore.

Makes sense that he would pass the title to Alexandar, the guy who brought him back from the dead.  It's been a long time since I beat KQ6 (probably over 15 years), so I don't remember much.  I do remember that King Calipham stays dead in one ending and Alexander becomes king through marriage (which would not be how it would work in England, but this is King's Quest).

Anyway, I just finished the game and have another question.  Anyone curious how all those ingredients we gathered for the arch druid actually mixed together to make a dream land spell?

Well, chalk it up to "mystery", and just remember that Graham once recharged a magic wand via Cheese. 'Nuff said. :P
