What got you interested in The Silver Lining?

Rock Knight

I was looking online for news of a new KQ game, hoping the series would return to form after KQ8, and I stumbled upon what was then KQ9.org, and was pleasantly surprised with what I found, and went around telling all my friends about it.

Thanks for that completely necessary bump, Rock Knight aka "Sir Perceval of Daventry who deleted his old account and registered under a new name and has already told us how he came to know about TSL."
I have no mouth, and I must scream.

I've been a KQ fan since the mid 80's and followed the series, along with the rest of the other Sierra ones, for the past 30+ years.  I even remember my initial introduction to the series.  As a toddler, I was just playing around with the demo computer at the store, which happened to be running either the original KQ1 or KQ2 at the time.

Anyhow it's inevitable that any opportunity I get to enjoy the series longer, I will take advantage of.  When I heard that the Silver Lining would serve as a high quality continuation of the series, I instantly added it onto my must-play list.

Now if only we can see the concluding chapter.  Right now it feels a lot like watching an excellent TV mini-series, only to find out the series finale episode is on hiatus...

Numberse, how the hell do you know Rock Knight and Sir Percival are the same people? And why does it matter if they are? He's not hurting anyone by getting a new account, and for the record, at least he's actually keeping on topic.

As for me... TV Tropes mostly. My love for Sierra in general started there, after reading the Unwinnable articles. Then I saw Pawdugan's Retrospective on the series, and just fell in love. Then I saw Toegoff's LP of TSL, and it just has snowballed over the years since then.

He messaged me and told me. And come on, you can tell from the writing that both accounts are from the same person. For the record, this is the fourth account he's made on this site, after DMD, TheReturnofDMD, and Sir Perceval of Daventry. There, I just laid it all out on the table for you. And bumping a two-year-old thread is never acceptable. If you want to talk about something in an old thread, just make a new thread for it. This is Standard Forum Protocol 101, for Christ's sake. Also, you seem to have forgotten that you too have already said how you came by TSL, on this thread's very first page. I'll just let that speak for itself.

Okay, okay, fair enough. Excuse me. And hey, I didn't remember that I'd posted on this specific thread already. *shrugs*

I skim old threads before posting in them, just to jog my memory.

Rock Knight

I was just bumping it to try to stir some discussion on the game to keep interest given that the release of the final chapter is at least months away, if not a few years more, to remind us of what brought us here to begin with.

Numbers

Again, if you want to start a discussion, make a new thread for it.
I have no mouth, and I must scream.

To leave this thread on a more positive note...
My hairdresser got me interested in The Silver Lining.  ;D
We were talking about some wonderfully awesome older generation games, and when I mentioned I was a huge fan of King's Quest he asked if I had played the fan created continuation. Needless to say, I was in awe of the work done by the fans, and have been a huge supporter of The Silver Lining since.
That and my hairdresser has a customer for life... as long as we continue to talk video games...
