I think if Avengers (and again, yay Whedon!) does well, we'll see more superhero movies go that route--building up to a movie about a group. Plus, seriously, what a great way to build a franchise and following for several movies.

I hope DC/Warner Bros are merely biding time to see how Marvel handles Avengers before going ahead and doing an epic lead-in to a Justice League movie to one-up them.

Even with the live-action Batman movies, I'd love to see the Joker as a returning character for once.

I seriously think the Joker is a cursed role.  No actor has ever played him in more than once.  You could count Mark Hamill for doing voice work in the TV cartoon and some video games, but not in live action.

But I digress.  Back to Spider-Man...we could argue about the ethics of rebooting film franchises that aren't very old until we're all blue in the face, but ultimately what it comes down to is: is it entertaining?  To which I say, it damn well better be.

that doesn't make any sense
and its a little rudely sarcastic

But true. Even the broomstick and the signal that's located in his utility belt.

Ugh, the Whedon-less Buffy.

I liked the movie, better than the series.

Cesar Romero, the "Latin from Manhattan". Three seasons of a TV-series and one motion picture.

:o :smack:

I'm with you, MikPal.

I find Whedon's stuff to often be overblown and way too into itself.  Though I did enjoy "Firefly" and "Serenity", the 'Buffy' TV show bugged me.

Thank you sir, may I have another?

Okay, Datadog, you get the swords, I'll get the stakes!

I can accept Whedon's stuff is not for everyone. But that said, I freaking love him and everything he's done.

I loved the movie! It didn't take itself very seriously. I never really watched the series, so I can't compare the two.

The movie is fun and enjoyable, but it's not *good*. (IMO, granted)

Well, according to IMDB, the Buffy movie currently has a rating of 5.4/10, based on almost 20,000 ratings.  It also has a 32% on Rotten Tomatoes, though only 34 critics reviewed it.

So I guess it qualifies as a "mediocre" film?  You know, because everything you read on the Internet is absolute, irrefutable fact and if you think otherwise, you are a pestilence to the rest of humanity. ::)
