We thank you all for your patience and I can assure you the staff is working SO hard on the episode to make sure it will be the best for y'all. I've seen some cool stuff with it and can't wait to show you all. And I will stop there before Andi comes after me :P

Kristen, you should use the suffer icon there. We are working as hard as we can to make this the best episode. We have had a few learning curves thrown at us that have slowed us down, but we have risen to the occasion and have become a stronger team because of it.

Episode 5 won't be released this summer. I wish it was because I want to share it with all of you so badly. I hope that the Four Winds are entertaining you while we work behind the scenes building the game. The writers and artists are very proud and hope you enjoy reading them. We have many more surprises along the way and a contest I hope you all like too. Details coming.  ;)

Please hang in there. I have never let you down and I don't plan to now. :)

Is it still looking like a 2012 release for Episode 5?  Or are you leaning towards 2013?

waltzdancing

It is looking more like 2013, but that is because I want to make sure I give you guys the best product I can deliver. Hopefully we'll have some stuff to show you. :)

gem_sky

That's cool; I know the quality will be delivered so I don't mind waiting.  Thanks for being open and answering my question.  I appreciate it!

Whee, just finished Silver Lining Episode 4 (finally). I'm looking forward to Cognition, but I really hope you guys don't forget about TSL. It would be sad to leave it dangling. Here's hoping for 2013!

waltzdancing

There will be an episode 5. I am making sure of that but the idea of 2012 isn't as plausable as it once was because we have run into some problems we weren't expecting. :)

Boogeyman

The hurricane isn't one of them, I hope.

On the positive side, some of the tools being developed for Cognition can be used for Ep5, too! :D

I'm making my own point and click adventure game in unity3D so I understand how it could take a long time to develop.

By the way, who does the voice for Erica Reed and Graham?

KatieHal

Erica Reed is voiced by Raleigh Holmes, and Graham is voiced by Jason Victor.

Good luck with your game!

Ohh Jason Victor... he does a perfect job. To such an extent that I wonder if he voiced Graham before (I never EVER check credits >_<)

Also good luck Cherubim, you cannot do worse then me in making my own point and click...

GrahamRocks!

No, he's been voiced only otherwise by Josh Mandel. Now, don't get me wrong, I like Mandel's voice for Graham (especially in the AGDI remakes), but... I think Jason Michael Victor is better. He's softspoken and has a fatherly tone to his voice, which is exactly how Graham should sound like in my opinion, not to mention that he actually puts emotion in his voice.

Whoa, sort of odd when I think about it. Jason Victor is just so perfect for the role it just somehow fit inside my head that it was always that way.

It isn't to me that Graham is soft spoken so much that he is kind, good hearted, and polite. When he is angry you get a bigger sense that he is driven and devoted more then spiteful. A perfect tone for what should be a the kind king Graham really is and one who has many a time spared his most vicious enemies. Making it all the better.

Mind you that is because I am comparing Graham to Alexander (KQ6 Alexander... the one in this game is soo weird next to that one) who takes Soft Spoken to the next level. Sounding barely able to raise his voice above a whisper.

We can probably thank Manannan for that. Softspoken is how a slave should speak after all. When I was talking about Graham being softspoken I was mainly referencing this from the KQ Omnipedia:

"His voice quiet and measured when he spoke, such was the aura of vitality and inner strength he projected, however he overshadows all others in his company. The authority he commands over his knights is absolute, but is not the authority of force and coercion. Rather, it is an authority derived from the absolute belief and trust he inspires in his people.[53] Graham accorded all who spoke before him the same weighty respect, knights and common folk alike. His face was thoughtful and he considered what they had to say.[54]"

Although, according to my crazy brain, I can't decide what Graham sounds like when I write my KQ5 fanfiction as it's switching between Josh Mandel's and Jason Michael Victor's voice for our favorite king, depending on the scene. Which as you can imagine, is annoying.

It is why it is always jarring when I hear Alexander speak in the Silver Lining.

I justify it by saying he is just in a very stressful situation where he has to emote... but it is just so weird to hear him actually yell. KQ6 Alexander didn't even sound like he could yell.

I guess what you can do GrahamRocks is instead just try to get into the character of Graham. Then just have his voice be a projection of that.

cherubim

I don't even remember what the original Graham sounds like except KQ5's Graham and only talking to Cedric, but I think Jason Victor has the perfect Graham voice.

Neonivek, yah although I made a really poor ASCII graphics resident evil like game before, its safe to say I'm starting from scratch. Until I get the hang of things, my game is simplified to a single room. A lot of adventure game elements are in it and a bit of Resident Evil action, except instead of requiring skill to shoot zombies, you just click with gun cursor, you still have to dodge and reserve bullets though.

Fun fact: Josh Mandel actually started out his career, long before Sierra, doing voice acting. He wanted there to be more emotion in Graham's voice in KQ5, but Roberta staunchly disagreed, saying in essence Graham is always "buff", always in control.

Quote{Playing) King Graham was the most bizarre. I'd had a lot of theater training, such as at Carnegie-Mellon and the American Conservatory Theater, and a lot of onstage experience. But when doing King Graham, he was envisioned as very two-dimensional, so I was directed: "Graham is never tired, never frightened, never defeated. He is ALWAYS buff." So while I had lines and situations that strongly suggested various moods and emotions, I was always reined in: "Be buff, be strong, be confident, no matter what." That was odd. But hey, I got to work with Cedric, and how many people can say that?
