Ah. Well, to answer your question and make a long story short: Cedric is human in my story. A magic user, to be exact, who is Crispin's apprentice and adopted son.
Brown hair and brown eyes. Wears rounded glasses instead of a monocle (just what exactly IS the point ofa monocle anyway?), and has a light blue vest and brown pants (matching up to, of course, the original Cedric as you can see in my avatar). I suspect he has orange/yellow boots, but I haven't decided as of yet. He's a young man in his 20s (around Alexander's Rosella' age)
The magic he uses is similar to what Alexander used in 3. He has a magic wand always in his hand, which he uses to cast his spells, most of which are from a spell book they'd gotten from the Serenia Library. To use a spell, he flips open the book, finds a spell that seems useful, points his wand at whatever the target is, and recite a short rhyme (usually 2-4 lines) and concentrate on channeling the spell through the wand.
I find it kinda interesting (and kinda sad too) that, my origina vision for GR!Cedric was to make him start out like the original Cedric- give bad advice, be a coward, generally making him annoying (albeit a tiny bit less annoying that the original) and be having him grow stronger and braver over time, and by the time he and Graham reach Mordack, he's completely changed into a young man just as brave as Graham.
That was my original intention. What I've ended up with however (s of chapter 5, which is as far as I've gotten, which is the gypsy camp and the Dark Forest), is someone who doesn't seem annoying (atleast to me), just... underconfident and really wants to make sure that Graham is safe. Must protect Graham at all costs! is what he tells himself in the Endless Desert, when they're running away from the bandits, and Graham suddenly skids to a stop and quickly hatches a plan to get rid of their leader. Cedric notices Graham isn't following and runs back to him, but he is stopped and is asked (for the second time that day) "Do you trust me?" in which Cedric nods and doesn't disturb him anymore. Graham's plan works, of course, and they head out of the desert.
As for Cedric's past... there isn't much to tell. He was raised by aloving mother (doesn't know nor care about his father) in Serenia, and was living a happy, simple life there until they decided to take a walk. How and why exactly they were in the Dark Forest, I haven't figured out yet, but anyway. They encounter the witch of the Dark Forest, who attacks them and (presumedly) kills Cedric's mother. Somehow, either he runs into Cripin, or Crispin finds him, and he takes him under his wing and raises him to be hi apprentice. Little does Cedric know, that his mother is still alive. She's just a little bit... smaller than usual.
