I can't believe I didn't ask this but what about Erica?

I say she's neutral good, she can't be lawful, after all she DID sneak into Davies' office

GrahamRocks!

But she had good reason to!

Hmm... Larry Laffer?

stika

Larry Laffer? Chaotic neutral definately

KatieHal

Neutral good for Erica, I'd definitely agree. She has enough respect for the law to not be chaotic, but she does get increasingly reckless as the episodes go on. I think I'd still say she's not quite chaotic good, though.

I think the real question is whether she's good or true neutral.

She often seems to be more interested in revenge rather than justice

KatieHal

Well, that is one of the main themes of the game... :)

But, does revenge necessarily mean bad or neutral over good? Particularly if the people you're getting revenge on are definitely not good/are doing bad things?

it depends on how it's handled really.

I'd say she's somewhere between good and neutral :P

GrahamRocks!

This should be a toughie...

The Hero from Quest For Glory?

stika

I never actually played the game, but from what I heard: Chaotic Neutral, he just seems to do what he wants how he wants

KatieHal

LOL, well, that one pretty much depends on the player. :)

I think it also depends on the character type that is being played as well as how the player uses that character. For instance, I think that a paladin has to be played as a lawful good character to reach the paladin status.

Deloria

Erica steals evidence, cusses everyone out, breaks into places she's not meant to be, hacks into her superior's email accounts, contaminates crime scenes and is generally pretty rude to everyone she meets. :P She might have good intentions, but doesn't that sound slightly chaotic to any of you? :P And she seems extremely conflicted about how she feels about Cordelia's personal brand of vengeance.

ooooh good point! Could it be Erica is really Chaotic Neutral? Tsk tsk Erica  :jafar:

LadyTerra

I'd say Erica is way more good than neutral.  Chaotic Neutral is sort of the embodiment of insanity.  You do what you want when you want with no real reason.  Erica has good intentions, and that makes the difference.
I have my cake and eat it too, until it's gone.  Then I can't do either.

Aww!  You have the Sword of Hugging +3!  All of your attacks deal affectionate damage!

Deloria

So Erica would be Chaotic Good? :) I'm so new to this. XD

I always saw the QFG Paladin as Neutral Good, personally. After all, to quote the poet Omar,

He won't always follow orders,
Because he dares to answer "Why?"
And unless he likes the reason,
He refuses to comply...

That, to me, describes Neutral Good. If they were Lawful Good, then they would ALWAYS comply, whether the rule is right or wrong without question.

Sam and Max

Chaotic good?
Chaotic Neutral?
Chaotic Evil?

I could see a solid argument for all 3

GrahamRocks!

I've never played Sam and Max. So, what are the arguments?

Commander Shepard?

Deloria

Max is definitely Chaotic Evil, but that's why we love him so much. :P Sam tries to be Lawful Good, I think.

I don't know if Sam is Lawful, I mean he does allow and even encourage Max to break the law and be evil.

I guess Sam is chaotic Neutral imo :P

EDIT: But then again, Sam does want to catch criminals and he obeys the Comissioner... True neutral maybe?

There's absolutely no way to define commander Sheppard, it's the sort of game where it's 100% up to the player
