I hate to be a killjoy, but I'm pretty sure that RM2K is illegal. It was commercially released in Japan, and then Don Miguel translated it into English and i think Russian and released it on the internet illegally. There is a legal version of RPG Maker for SNES, Playstation, and maybe PS2.

I don't know why it's on the internet, it just is. I really feel bad doing this, it's just that when I saw people talking about it I had to say something.

Actually liam is correct, the original version (the one from japan) is actually a payed software (as far as I know) I did a research on this because I was working on the business plan for a software exactly alike RPG Maker a few months ago.
