I don't care if none of you played the classic Rise of the Triad (MUUUUUCH better than Doom)

but HOLY CRAP I'm excited for this:

for those of you who never heard, here's the original game, It's amazing how ahead of it's time it was, dual weilding, jump pads and destructible objects on the Wolfenstein 3D engine

The bottom one looks a lot more fun.

Yeah, you should probably shouldn't get so hyped up about something that's probably going to suck. It might be another fiasco on the same level as the 2009 Wolfenstein.
I have no mouth, and I must scream.

The graphics look pretty, but honestly - I'm SO SICK OF SEEING A HAND GRIPPING A GUN IN FRONT OF ME.  First person was cool in 1995.  Now... I dunno.  The novelty wore off - at the time, it was new!  3D movement in First Person was NEW!  Now, it's so old... it just holds no appeal to me.  I definitely prefer seeing an avatar on screen.

I know some people like the "immersion", but I'm definitely of the mindset that I want to play a game, not a simulation.  Whenever I'm playing any game, I always know I'm me.  I get immersed in the game-play and the story, sure, but I never have any delusions about who I am.

I wasn't at first... but I think seeing the classic ROT weapons and theme in today's graphics gave me a nostalgia attack

I like both to be honest, First person Shooters play pretty differently from Third Person Shooters, as the limited field of view can vastly affect gameplay

stika I could figure this out myself but I'm lazy and you are a fan, is there a legal way for me to get a hold of it?
