XD

To be fair, original players of the game were probably like that too, but they never had the capability to share screenshots on the internet. :P

I think it's a different issue. Today's gamers aren't used to 2D games.

I mean think about it, 2D game haven't been the norm since 1995, so when they see a 2D game that doesn't play like Mario they don't know what to do

I think in general new gamers today give up or go looking for help more easily than gamers 10+ years ago did. There's kind of a "I've been stuck for five minutes, better look online for a solution" thing going on. Folks are just impatient.

yep, back then, we had to find a way ourselves, or ask friends to buy the strategy guide.

But let's be honest here, do we REALLY miss the frustration of giving up on a game because we're stuck?

For old games that I'm replaying I of course use online hint systems when I'm stuck. However for games like Cognition that I play the day they are released, that's not an option. And yes, I will admit it's very frustrating. But it's kind of a cool feeling to realize that you were able to complete a game without using a guide. So, I guess I understand both sides of the argument.

Oh I definitely understand both sides, I just feel that the people in the original post come from a new, different generation of gamers, some may say better, others might think it's worse.

Personally, they all had their ups and downs and to this day, no one's forcing anyone to track down a game guide :P

Oh no no absolutely not, people are playing the classics and you are SHAMING them for it? They are in uncharted territory be supportive. :)

I tried to play Super Metroid, but the boner it gave me made it hard to concentrate on the game, so I had to give up.
