Trouble with installing EP3

Hello,

I just downloaded the game tonight with no problems and I received the following error message after I began the install process:

An error occurred while trying to replace the existing file:
DeleteFile failed; code 5.
Access is denied.

I tried downloading and installing a second time but with the same results.  I tried different directories also.

I have purchased and installed episodes 1 & 2 with no problems (and have since uninstalled them from my system) - but I didn't buy them on this website.  I bought them through the Indie Royale website. Oh, and I'm using Windows 7.

What's the size of the file you have downloaded?

You do have the full file then at least. Make sure you have enough free space on your C drive (around 2 GB) to handle the unpacking and installing of the game. If you do, you may need to run a disk cleanup and wash out some temporary files that could be interfering with this process.

I do have plenty of space free, but I'll try the disk cleanup and see what happens

If that doesn't work, when you run the installer try right-clicking it and choosing the option to run it as an administrator.

I did run it both as an administrator and without that option - both with the same error message result.

I tried to install it again after trying the disk cleanup and still ran into the same message.  I clicked on ignore, and the game seemed to install just fine despite whatever it was trying to do at the beginning.

I've been playing it without any problems so far - if I do run into something I'll be back - but so far so good!

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you're running the installer off of the desktop in Windows, it may have trouble with file deletions due to that reason (as we found out with previous installers). I'm glad you got the game working!
