Beyond: Two Souls Tribeca Film Festival Saturday...

Kind of odd, but they are having a showing of the trailer and 35 minutes of Beyond: Two Souls screening at the Tribeca Film Festival, and there will be a live stream of it.  Beyond: Two Souls is the latest game of David Cage(Omikron, Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain) for those unaware.  Here's the link with the details for anyone interested, the stream starts at 6:45 p.m EST: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/04/25/beyond-two-souls-live-at-tribeca-film-festival-this-saturday/

It was a pretty good screening, overall including the Q&A session afterwords it probably lasted about a hour.  They talked and showed a lot of details about the making of the game and the 35 minutes of gameplay was stuff that hadn't been seen to my knowledge.  They got Cage, Ellen Page, and several of the other actors to commentate on their experiences while making the game and the differences between it and normal acting.

Here's the new trailer for the game, I imagine the full event will show up later.

I haven't played Heavy Rain yet, but I'm not sure if games should be part of a film festival.

Not to say games can't have good stories, but they're a different outlet

To some extent I agree with that sentiment, but I think in this particular case since they got some top-notch actors and actresses to work on Beyond with motion capture, I can somewhat think of it as close to a CG movie.  Mostly, any press like this is good for the genre and of course, the game itself.  Here's the full video of the screening.

Kind of pissed I missed this. I was going to go to Tribeca this year, given how close my college is to it but I ended up not going. Maybe next year.
