Ep3: Jeff Therrien details

It's bad described in Ep3 what is the story with Jeff Therien. It's second name of Keith, but why does he hold 2nd name. And how this surname is connected with Scorobeus. Is Scorobeus' real surname is Therrien or what.

And why does Keith has 2 names-surnames at the same time.

And why did Cordelia hold Keith in basement chained to the wall with piss bucket. No description =)

Hi Alex, and welcome to the forums

Much of what you're wondering about is going to be explained and addressed in Episode 4, actually, so I'm going to hold off in saying much about it. I'm glad you're enjoying the game, though!

But I can explain a few things:

Jeff Therrien is Keith's birth name, and Skorobeus (whose full name we are never given) is his real father. At some point, Keith was taken in and raised by the Smiths as though he was their own son, though in Episode 3, the reasons for this are not given.

Also, I'm going to spoiler-tag your post so others don't stumble on the spoilers before they play the episode as well.

Katie, not fully logical. Coz when u take some child to raise, ur real children know it. know that this child is not native. or - they can guess coz he's looking not  like they (children) do

They're all fairly close in age--Keith was adopted at some point when the kids were all quite young, and their parents didn't tell them, since obviously none of them knew. He does look different, yes, but there's always the possibility of recessive traits, etc.

On-topic: Well, your mileage may vary, and I'm glad you're enjoying the game regardless. But people aren't always logical, especially about family.

Erica's vision in the basement gives us some clues, doesn't it? In the present, the papers on the table are the Smiths' will. But...

in Erica's vision, you can also see a part of Jeff's birth certificate. It indicates that Jane Smith and Skorobeus are his parents, if I'm not mistaken. Jane Smith? Cordelia's mother? I'm not sure if we actually know the name of Cordelia's parents, so this could also be an aunt I guess?

This doesn't explain why Keith has got two names, but I thought it was an interesting piece of detail to mention...

She might be calling herself Jane Smith and giving birth under an assumed name to avoid gossip. Still somewhat surprised her husband went in for it though, and kept Skorobeus as the family lawyer. Small wonder they grew up to be sociopathic and dysfunctional.
