Hi! I was wondering about unofficial translations for other languages. Is it possible to create one? Does Phoenix endorse it or do you prefer to do with such things in-house?

If someone has already discussed this topic, I apologize for duplicity. I did use search tool.

I'm not sure, but I think they're hoping to do translations. I'm guessing they would be text-only translations. Maybe one of the directors can give an official answer.

I don't think they would allow unofficial translations, as they couldn't be sure that the translated game faithfully represented the original. One little mis-translation, and you could accidentally offend a bunch of people. :P

Yeah, for a translation to be part of the game options, it would need to be something we add on our end--so, yes, all translations need to be official ones, with testing, etc, as part of the process of implementing them.

We are hoping to add more translations to Cognition, but it's one of the things were budget plays heavily into it, in addition to some time from a few different departments.

But thanks for the interest & enthusiasm! :)

I can certainly imagine the horrified expression of player reading a literal translation of "rain cats and dogs" :D.

Yeah, for a translation to ...
I understand. Thanks for replying. If you ever change your mind, remember you have one person willing to bring it closer to potential Czech fans. ;) I'm not a professional translator and my written English is hardly great but I used to translate from English a lot in my free time.

Enjoy the weekend (finally!).
