I started a first playthrough of this last weekend and finished up yesterday. I pretty thoroughly enjoyed it. I like the way the story was presented, and found the plot to be really interesting. I'm happy with the ending I got, though I know there's a bunch of other possibilities there that I want to go back and explore.

I'll note here a couple of specific things I want to try, though I'd also like to do another playthrough where I just deliberately do everything as "wrong" as possible as there's supposedly no "game over" state so it'd be interesting to see how the game plays out under those circumstances. I also assume there's entire sections of the game I never saw, like in Heavy Rain there was this scene with Ethan at the police station that I never even played in my two passes through that game.

In the bar scene:
I want to see if there's a way to avoid the near-assault thing in there, and then find out if that has an impact on how the dinner scene with Ryan plays out later.
In the desert:
It didn't even occur to me to try and save "Paw" from his injury toward the end of this area, I was in so much of a panic to resolve the problem with the spirit. And then she comes right out and says she could have saved him.
Overall, yeah I'm super pleased with the game. Awesome visuals and voice acting, cool story, and while it was generally linear, I still felt like I had plenty of freedom to explore and choose the flow of the plot.

Since I'm guessing you might do a second playthrough of the game, I won't spoil it, but I will say you can make those changes.  I'm probably going to roll a bit in a minute to try to find bonuses which I missed, since I smoothly didn't know they existed until I found my first one in a certain destitute chapter.

As to my take on the game, I had most of that in the other thread, but in short, I agree.  I think compared to Heavy Rain it is a more linear/streamlined game and it's pretty much a wash as to that being better or worse, but it's the most complete game Quantic Dream has made overall to this point, and I rate it about a 9 out of 10.

I agree with it being the most complete game. The plot wraps up the most nicely, fewest loose ends, fewest plot holes, etc. My problem is that with the lack of meaningful choice, the game didn't feel as satisfying. I feel like it was technically a lot better and aesthetically a lot less. :-\

It's funny how you find you enjoy your life when you're happy to be alive.

On a related note, I got the edition with the Gamestop Exclusive DLC(which I suspect will be purchasable later on PSN).  It's fun, but doesn't add anything to the story and is short, it's just Jodie and Aiden solving puzzles in a Portal-esque environment being tested by the government.

Interesting article I saw posted on the Adventure Gamer forums about the strengths/weaknesses of the choice system of Beyond: Two Souls.  It does have spoilers so I recommend beating the game before reading it, but it is a well-written piece: http://playersdelight.blogspot.com.au/2013/10/beyond-two-souls-most-unique-feature-is.html

Very interesting article, thanks a bunch for posting that. I personally didn't ever think at any point during the game, "This is the only way to do this" probably mostly because I've played Quantic's prior games and so I went into this one with the assumption that I'd find out there were other paths and scenes that I'd totally miss.
