Episode 1 Problem with light gadget

When I get to Longmore's apartment  I cannot use the light gadget to project his fingerprints as it is asking me for a code. Is this a glitch or have I missed something?
Any help would be appreciated

Did you actually use the light gadget on his file in Erica's computer to download his prints to the gadget itself? If so, you should only have to use the gadget on the scanner while in the computer area camera view.

Yes, and when I click on the light source it says that his fingerprints are stored on it but I can't seem to do anything without a code.

Thanks, I've realised my mistake, I was trying to use it on the monitors rather than the scanner, thanks
