TSL4 doesn't run on my Windows 8 Pro laptop.

Has anyone had this problem?
A black command prompt opens then disappears, and that's it! Runs fine on Windows XP.
I just downloaded the latest version. file size was: 1,799,642,179

TSL was made before Windows 8 ever came out, so it isn't actually listed as being compatible with that OS. Some people have had luck modifying the compatibility settings to run it under an earlier version of Windows.

The error message in the command prompt window that flashes up briefly says something about "Error: ... cannot open... specified mode".

I've tried all OS'es in the compatibility settings, and set the game config to the lowest resolution with no graphics options selected. Still not working though.

Sorry to hear it, but it does sound like the game may just not be capable of running on that machine. It's an unfortunate reality in this industry that every time a new operating system comes out we find that some games designed around prior operating systems don't work under the new one.

Yep your right same here. Cannot get my game running now I can't finish the game almost to the final end. Running Window 8 Pro on Desktop.

Crying out loud did not anyone got TSL running in windows 8 or 8.1 at all?

I know that some people were able to get it running under an earlier compatibility mode (myself included) but at some point along the way the updates to Windows 8 have taken it out of range. I've tried all sorts of things to get it running on my own Windows 8 laptop with no success.

Well I went and install TSL 1-4 on my computer in my sign shop it running windows 8.1 and it working ok.
Kind of weird as to why not in windows 8.

I installed it to my Windows 8 machine and it ran just fine running as an administrator. I didn't even have to use any compatibility modes...

That weird cause I am running windows 8 and when I click on the TSL icon it flicker then stop.
