Episode 2 Glitch with Rose's shop

Hello!  I've really enjoyed playing Episode 1 and was looking forward to playing Episode 2.  I've hit a snag now and cannot move forward .  At the beginning of the game where I visit Rose for the first time and she helps me, I cannot exit the shop.  I have tried everything, but nothing works.  Any suggestions??

Can you be a bit more specific about what happens when you try to leave the shop? Does the game crash or do you get some kind of error?

It doesn't do anything.  It doesn't crash or freeze, it just does not allow me to exit the door.  The word EXIT shows up, but when I click on it, I cannot leave Rose's shop.  I have tried starting from a previously saved game and it did it again with that.

And you've completed the synergy on the two items and called Cordelia right?

No, it happens when I try to leave the shop after learning I need to go back and get a 2nd item off of Tess's desk to complete the Synergy.  I try the synergy one time at Rose's shop and then learn that the vision is not clear enough and I need to go get another item from Tess's desk in addition to the pen.  Do I need to be blacking this out?  Sorry if I do .  Anyway, when I learn I need to get the 2nd item, I try to leave Rose's shop and that's when the EXIT does not work.

I figured out exactly where in the game it is doing it.  It's right after I show Rose the pink pen and listen to the dialogue and the yellow box comes up telling me I now have the power of synergy.  After that time, I can no longer EXIT Rose's shop.

OK, I figured it out.  I wasn't doing the Synergy the right way.  I thought that if the pen or number was in the box that it meant I had selected it.  Once I did it correctly, it allowed me to call Cordelia and EXIT the shop.  THANKS
