Hey everyone!

As most of you noticed, our site was offline for a bit over 24 hours.  The previous server we were using died and we are now using a way more reliable server. :)  Thankfully, I backed up the site on Sunday July 25th, but this means we lost two days of posts.

If that server comes online again, I'll re-add the missing posts.  But since it's still down as we speak, I don't know if or when it will come online again.

Thanks to the MSN stalkers that kept asking me when the site will be back.  They didn't really help much, but at least kept me entertained during this web crisis. :suffer:

I'm glad you're using a more reliable server now. I was wondering why the addresses seem to have changed for some of the hyperlinks, does that have something to do with the server(kq9groups)?

Yonkey

That's the first bug I noticed this server to have.  For some reason it doesn't redirect to directories' indexes.

For example: http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum won't work, but http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/ will.  :S

I'm gonna e-mail the tech support to ask now. 8)

Thanks.

I was mainly wondering about the contest submissions. I have one to send, and I haven't sent any yet  :(

Yes, I noticed that if I typed http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum
it went to
http://www.kq9groups.net/forum
and stuffed up!

Yonkey

Yeah, a few people were telling me they were having that problem too.  Weird.  :o I think once the kq9groups.net domain propagates everything should be ok.

It's nice to know that we at least kept you entertained.  That was the most important thing...well, besides getting the forum back up :P

I had the weird redirect problem just now too, since I usually leave off the trailing / while typing in the address at work. So I tried seeing if the main site was up, and got to link in from there.

And I didn't stalk Yonkey... I figured he had the matter figured out, and he'd be busy, and any pertinent news would get passed around somehow. But I did hang on MSN for a little while, and J-R and Cesar bugged me instead. ;D

It was fun spamming Cesar on MSN yesterday because I needed to talk to him and his MSN kept logging in and out.  :suffer:

Jeysie

Yeah, Cesar bounced on and off a bit while talking to me as well.

And I hate to say it, but the forum still is slow on this server as well. :P (I'm surfing on DSL at work, FYI.)

I'm having very little difficulty on DSL at the library.  The one that takes the longest is when I'm first pulling up the site on the computer.  I guess that it's just got to download everything...

Jeysie, you were on MSN yesterday??  I hate that I missed you!  But isn't that always my luck?

I was only on from about 3 to 6, IIRC. Then I had to get offline and work on some stuff. There weren't many folks online at the time.

As for the forum, it's just slow connecting to the pages sometimes... once it does it's fast loading the page. No different than before. :-\

The weird redirection/trailing slash bug has now been fixed!  8)

I like to take a moment to thank your dear friend Neil (aka Yonkey) for working so hard to keep the website outage to a minimum and get us going again!

Thanks!  I probably could have had it up a bit quicker, but I lost an important e-mail when my hard drive died back in April, so I had to wait almost a full day to get it again. ::)

The new server seems much faster to me.
