Hello all.  So I found this game about 7 years ago or so, and was completely blown away.  My parents used to play the originals on our old (and still functional!) Tandy and passed the legacy down to my older brother and I, who’ve played and finished all but KQ8.  I found this game, randomly, and had the pleasure of playing it through.  I’m also a professional voiceover actor and had the opportunity to talk to the woman who voiced Rosella for Silver Lining, very cool.

Anyways, for years now, I’ve been quietly watching this forum for any news or updates.  During quarantine I jump in here maybe once a week just to see if anyone has anything to say, it’s gotten pretty slow to say the least.  So, I decided to jump in and be a part of the community.  I love Shalkar’s passion to finish his game (ease up Numbers and GrahamRocks!, he wants this finished as badly as the rest of us), and Katie, please keep up the updates.  It’s always a pleasure to hear anything from the other side, even if the game is far from ever being completed.

I know everyone has been wanting an update, but unfortunately, there isn't much to give an update on. This doesn't mean the project is dead, but other projects that allow us to stay open and pay the people working for us take precedent. I wish I could give you something more substantial, I really do, but I'm afraid I don't have anything for you right now.

That said, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy right now. Take care of yourselves!

I love the story and these characters. I know that this project is a free project and folks have to pay bills. I was curious what actual $ amount it would take to finish it. I know we all want to play the game, but if it really will never be released, would you consider releasing the story so we know how it ends. Of course I would prefer to play the game, but I know times, people, and situations change.

I agree with this, how much can we all pool together and donate to get a finished game?

I'm not on the team, but I know the answer: they can't accept any money for TSL; that's part of the agreement that they made to rescue the game from the Vivendi C&D.
That being said, you can always buy some of the other games they've developed to support them monetarily.

I really hope for progress on this and a conclusion to this amazing project. I love it so. I know they can't accept money for this but I wish they'd accept volunteers. There are many a programmer fan who'd be willing to help I'm sure! That said too many hands spoil the pot and become unwieldy so it likely is what it is. Just wish there were something that could be done to help. Supporting the other amazing work here I fear also puts pressure on sequels to those instead, the neverending grind of capitalism. I own all (if not almost all) of their other games published. All fantastic. Can't buy episode 5 ever tho, not even pre-order as said. I just languish in my powerlessness along with the rest of you.
Glad this forum is keeping the faith, I do check in still hoping against hope. Thank you all who still post and check in. It means a lot to me and makes me smile knowing the love for this project is still stong.

Sadly, I think it’s time to stick a fork in expecting the final chapter.  There hasn’t been a proper update since 2019.  Maybe, someday, we’ll get a fangame to close it out.

Has anyone tried contacting Katie lately? If this episode is indeed dead in the water, I'd rather hear it from her, rather than speculating about its status here.
