I just wanted to shaare with you guys the excitement within the team as yesterday we reached our final rough script form.

For those of you who wonder, it's (gulp) 1891 pages long. Yeah, that's 1891 (courier new 12, double spaced) It's been a hard work and we still need to work more on it to take it to a final form, but we are happy to have it now in a rough form, which will make our production process much more easy as we can use it as a blueprint.

That means you'll have a better idea of the progress you're making, right? ;)

Phew, that's twice as long as Lord of the Rings!

And hopefully four times as good as well. ;D

Yes now begins the fun part, the combining of all the written material, the rewrites, the modifications, the touch ups on the dialog.  Lots of stuff to do.  But atleast now I can sit down and get a full picture of the look of the entire game which is good news for the art department.  Here we go!!! ;D

If the rough script is 1891 pages, does that mean the final script will be longer or shorter?

PS: olbushie, the complete Lord of the Rings trilogy + prologue reaches a bit more than 1300 pages, that's not really half of 1891 is it? 8)

If you pull off the game based on such an ambitious script, it will be amazing.  Absolutely amazing.

The length of previous KQs will pale in comparison.

Brilliant work Cesar (and the rest of the team).

Given the amount of loose ties they had to bind up from previous KQ's, it's no wonder the script is that long.  8)

Maybe, maybe not. You have to see what the fans reactions is even if you like the game's story. Because this is for the fans. Sorry I'm giving negative comments. I myself think it will be good.

Say

well I think this is something that is going to please a lot of kq fans, since like the structure of the game is based on to be a big kq story that involves every single detail, as well as it wraps up lots of what its been so far about it, with the aditional mystery spicy plot ;)
I do think it will have some good feedback since the fans working on the kq9 team, have had a glance of it somehow and they are all very eager to get their work into progress in order to get it all done :)

I'm fairly confident it will be enjoyed, I loved the full idea when I first heard it. And still do ;)

Of course, you can't please everyone all of the time. There will always be some people who won't like this or that or any of it, so I'm hoping to be prepared to take criticism as well, because there's no avoiding it.

But yeah, I really do think & hope the majority will be "That's awesome!!" as opposed to "What in god's name were you thinking?!" ;D

Yeah, I think some people read WAY too much into things. Like reading between the words that are between the lines or something. Basically, lots of people tend to say what they believe the author was trying to say when he/she wrote something, when the author was just having fun and making no social commentary whatsoever. Heck, some people might think Monkey Island is bad because it is "a glorification of the insidious pirate trouble during the early sea-exploration days". Those kinds of people miss the point entirely...
