[Rosedragon]

Since it was dark and Bloody Honor had already gone to bed, Vera decided to go to bed too. She underneath a magic hawthorn tree, whose branches and blossoms protected her from nightly dangers. She cast a circle of protection spell around the campsite for the night so no one could harm her companions. The knight and Echoin went to sleep also.

It turns out that they were trapped in a circle of plants that induced eternal sleep, and only someone else could save them...

Next week, Cedric flies around wondering where everyone went and finds them sleeping in the plants. He quickly woke them up and got them far away form the plants.

Cedric: "Watch out for those plants! They almost cause you to sleep forever!!!! For some reason these plants have been growing a lot lately... get to work and stop the evil magician!"

Echoin: "Okay, Cedric, sounds like things have gotte worse. Come on, guys, let's beat that mud monster!!"

Everyone looks over to where the mud monster is, and it turns out he is asleep in the deadly flowers too.

Echoin: "Looks like the evil magician accidentally helped us out! Come on, guys, let's slowly bake him without waking him up."

Everyone takes a hand mirror out of their pocket and focuses the sun at the beast. Because it is really sunny, the monster is baked into pottery in 20 minutes.

The Knight then takes his mighty narsil and shatters the mud monster into oblivion!

Echoin: "Phew! Now let's go find that wizard!"

Cedric: "Before you go..."

"Before you go..." Cedric said, "you should know that Crispin has been captured by an evil wizard. I think it's the same wizard that sent the mud monster. Crispin left a note, saying that the wizard's name is Merlin, at least it looks like Merlin, he didn't get past the "Merl" part."

"But I thought Merlin was a good wizard. And didn't he die many years ago?" Vera asked.

"I don't understand it either." said Echoin. "We must find a way to rescue him."  

"Let me try to think of some spells. We must know exactly who it is that has Crispin before we try to rescue him." said Vera.

As they were talking, the light in the forest darkened for a moment. They thought a cloud passed over the sun. Vera looked up, and saw a hideous winged monster descending upon them. It was half bird and half woman. Four harppies were attacking them!

The harpies shrieked as they dove down upon the adventures. One of them let lose some noxious harpy dung. Fortunately they managed to jump out of the way before being hit.

Bloody Honor pulled out his bow and shot at them, the Knight did the same.  Echoin flew through the trees and cast a spell to blind a harpy, which crashed to the ground.

The knight slashed at the ugliest harpy with his sword, who fought back with her claws.

As she was thinking of a spell to cast, two harpies swooped down upon Vera and snatched her up. Vera screamed. The heroes tried to shoot at the harpies, but they were afraid they might hit the fairy. The harpies carried Vera out of sight.

"Great! Now they have my woman!" cried Bloody Honor. "What are we going to do?"

[Oldbushie]

Echoin sees the harpies take Vera to a large castle in the distance using his shadow-sight.

"It looks like the evil wizard has captured Vera... what should we do? I am not strong enough to fight a full-fledged wizard yet, and I cannot learn spells very well without Crispin. I can take the spell book just in case, but what about you two?"

TheKnight: "Never fear, I have fought many powerful beings before with my mighty narsil. Just watch, I'll beat him and his minions up in no time."

BloodyHonor: "I, too, am good at destroying things. but first we must devise a plan to get to the castle and in without being noticed. Surely the wizard has spies around his castle to alert his attention."

[Oldbushie]

Cedric: "Oh, no, that's much too dangerous for me! ...I'll just stay behind and watch the forest."

Echoin: "Oh, no, Cedric, not this time! We need your night vision. I may be a living shadow, but even i can't see in the dark quite yet. Don't worry, I'll cast a strong protective spell over you to prevent any harm."

Cedric: "Oh, ok... in that case I will come, as long as you don't drag me into that creepy old castle."

Echoin: "Agreed. Well, let's be off! Cedric will alert us if there are any enemies nearby, and then we can try to avoid those enemies."

The brave quartet starts marching bravely in the direction of the castle...

[Oldbushie]

Echoin mutters some magic, acts as if turning on a switch, and light floods the entire swamp. Thousands of strange, furry creatures run back to their lairs.

Then he turns down the light a bit so it won't be too suspicious...

"Alright! Let's go. I'll form shadow planks for the tricky parts, don't worry."
