Personally, I don't think there's enough activity on the forums. How am I supposed to become a KQ9 Groupie, if there aren't enough new posts? >:(

*thinks about all the threads that are unread*

Nevermind.   ;D

I'm beginning to think you revive old threads just to get more posts...

That's only about a 1/3 of the reason. Besides, I'm rarely on the forums, when I can have a real-time conversation(like you). If someone wants the threads to stay dead, I'll leave them alone, then I'll start making new threads.  ;D

lol...between all the posts you make...I guess it looks like you're on the forum more than you actually are!  Real-time conversations are actually less common than you think--at least, the ones that are joined with MSN :P

Some forums have a major thing against thread resurrection (AGDI's comes to mind), but nobody's ever made an official proclimation one way or the other here.

I personally don't mind... most of the threads here seemed to have died simply from lack of interest, rather than deliberate cease-fire of a flame war or something similar, so it generally doesn't dredge up anything horrible. If the thread still has a spark in it, we all might chat about it again... otherwise it'll drop into obscurity again. (shrug)

Live and let chat, I say! ;)

I'm often logged into the forum, when I'm away from the computer(FAR away). I normally stay logged in, when I'm making large downloads, so I might appear to be watching the forum, more than I am.

I personally don't mind thread resurrection, though sometimes I see one and I'm like "Whoa, where did this come from?".

The only time it's a problem is if the thread had some offensive content in it and gets resurrected when it should have been locked.  I know that the resurrector usually has no intention of continuing with the offensiveness, so I'd just split out the bad stuff and lock it.  ;D

EDIT: Oh, and another thing I dislike are resurrectors that add no real value to the conversation but just resurrect for the sake of resurrecting.  I consider that as thread spamming.  It hasn't happened yet, but their posts would probably be deleted and they'd get a warning.

I posted in a thread that might have been considered offensive. Then the server crashed. I went to post there again, and it was locked. Any chance that the thread was locked because of my post(not offensive, but it might have brought the thread to your attention)?

Hehe, I remember the thread you're talking about.  And don't worry, it had nothing to do with your post. ;D

I don't mind thread resurrections myself, as long as the resurrector actually has something important enough to say to warrant the resurrection. Resurrections shouldn't be about upping one's post count or having one's name show up on every thread in the category (although those are worthy goals in themselves) 8)

I'm just planning on going thru all the threads I missed out on. It's as simple as that.
