Lol!!!! Well, for some reason Virginia's not as prepared for snow as New England, you've gotta remember. It's like the state cleanup crews are taken by surprise every time it snows.
Hee, I know, I know. It's still kinda funny, though.
I was up in Massachusetts earlier this year when it was below freezing for a week straight. It wasn't snowing, but I saw the remnants of snow piles everywhere.
I didn't mind the cold at all myself, though for some reason a lot of other people were complaining.
Oh, the snow banks around here can get to legendary proportions. I can remember a few times I wasn't careful enough about climbing over a sidewalk snowbank to cross the street and I ended up sinking in to my waist. Not fun.

Although there's one mall where the snowbanks can be funny... shopping carts sometimes get buried in the snow where the attendants and plows can't see them. So when the snow finally melts away from the huge snowbanks the plows create, all you see is gigantic mounds of crushed multi-colored plastic and metal bits.
As for the cold... it's not that we're not used to the cold... in fact, it is because we're used to the cold that we complain. For those spare few months of the year it gets all nice and comfy and warm... and then all too soon we're stuck in our 7-8 months of cold again.

Peace & Luv, Liz
