This thread is for discussing all the really really obscure games you've played. We're talking games so obscure, even the most experienced gamers look at you funny when you mention them, games that time forgot and Google never heard about (Ok, that's an exaggeration, but you get the drift).

Who knows? you might even find the one other person besides yourself who's heard about that game ;)

The first game in this dungeon is one I've mentioned here before - Kingdom O'Magic. Sure, it has about 2,950 hits on Google, but no one around here even heard about it before I came up and saved the day by bringing it to everyone's attention :P

Hmm, obscure games eh?

Tass Times In Tone Town?
When cities burn and armies turn,
and flee in disarray,
Cowards will cry 'tis best to fly
and fight another day.
But warriors know it in their marrow when they die and fall,
It is better to have fought and lost than not have fought at all.

Shadow of Destiny(also available for the PS2).
The PS2 version isn't too well known, but it's the PC version that's so obscure. It's also know as Shadow Of Memories. A great storyline, and multiple endings. It was good enough, to start a few fanfics.

Heart of China
No idea if it's obscure or not, but I'd like someone to tell me if it is. :P

Companions of Xanth
It's obscure, but if you ever see the game, RUN!! !! !!

Well.... unless you can appreciate the game's strange sense of humor.

If nothing else, it was a great game due to having multiple endings(name a game with multiple endings, and I'm bound to like it).

If you want an idea of the game, go here(many spoilers in it though). It's supposed to have a link, to a place you can buy it from also.

SPOILERS/Info

The opposite direction. :P

Septerra Core. Really slow battle scenes make it annoying.

Oh good lord! Companions of Xanth - ACK!! I was once upon a time a HUGE fan of Piers Anthony and his Xanth series (novels) until they steadily became the same thing over and over again. The game, based on the book Demons Don't Dream in particular, is terrible. I'm glad I never paid for it, yeesh. Anthony's books are decent when first reading them, but then they all involve some gorgeous girl, handsome guy, lame references to sex and huge boobs all the time, and in the end the good guys win predictably. He should've stopped that series a long time ago.

But yeah, Septerra Core is my addition to the list.  :P

Louisiana Night

I didn't think Septerra Core would be classified as an Adventure game, but I've played it also. Never finished it though....

*looks through stack of CDs*

Found it! ;D

B'rrr

wheee!! i have a comp game of MtG!!  :D :D ....if there was only one of SWccg  :-\ ...o, well at least i can play cards again... it can be mp, just don't know if it can only be played lan or if it's internet playable as well...

Louisiana Night

I used to play a MtG PC game(the old one), didn't like the game too much(no multiplay). :-\

Storm

Ok, here's the score so far:

Dungeon NomineeGoogle Hits
MtG PC game29,200

Septerra Core27,600

Heart of China16,000

Kingdom O'Magic2,950

Companions of Xanth2,580

Tass Times In Tone Town198

Evidence: The Last Report135

Evidence gets bonus point since I couldn't find a review for it, Tass Times In Tone Town gets bonus point for me not realizing it was a game title :P

The first three don't qualify as obscure... too many hits. The next two are still in the thousands, which is obviously too high for this place. The last two fit here perfectly! 8)

Time to start digging thru boxes again. :P

P.S. Storm, you started a thread about obscure games, with a non-obscure game? ;P

EDIT: Sands of Egypt (a CoCo game)

ANOTHER EDIT: Mickey's Space Adventure (made by Roberta Williams, for all who care to know)

B'rrr

whooo!! only 135 hits, not bad  :D

Ahh, but at the time I started the thread, this game was relatively obscure - When compared with the other games that were on the thread at the time ;)

Quote from: Louisiana Night on October 01, 2004, 02:54:43 PMANOTHER EDIT: Mickey's Space Adventure (made by Roberta Williams, for all who care to know)

Heard about it... I think I tried downloading it once but it needed an emulator. Or is that "The Wizard And The Princess" I'm thinking about? :S

They made a DOS version, but I've only played the CoCo version. :)

I doubt it's a game you'd want to play though. XD

me=under 6 years old, when I played it(I think) :P

EDIT: Using Google, The Sands of Time got 1,410 hits(most had nothing to do with games). Then I added "game" to the end, and got 608 hits, though most of those seem to be of the Windows game. :P

Eh, that paragraph is referring to the other game you've mentioned :-\

Funny, I got 140,000 results for "the sands of time" +game on Google... maybe because it's the Prince of Persia sequel ;)

"Sands of Egypt" +DOS got only 65 results... But "Sands of Egypt" +atari got 399, and "Sands of Egypt" +atari OR datasoft got 444. The game seems to be more popular in the Atari version ;)

I didn't know they ported the game to DOS, I thought it was only made for the Color Computer(Sands of Egypt). :-\

Quotebecause it's the Prince of Persia sequel

I've been wanting to play that game(not too sure why), and now it's overtaking my mind! :P

P.S. I posted one, that made it onto the list! !!!

Shadowfax

Oh yeah! I am good at my obscure games!

BTW, has anyone else played Tass Times in Tone Town (that Captain Snarl is a pain in the backside during the early stages!)

Sorry, I thought you meant only Sands of Egypt was for Coco, and I was referring to Mickey's Space Adventure :-\

From its location on the list, I'm pretty sure the answer is 'No' ;)

Another obscure game. :)

Lancelot

Since neither "dos" nor "game" gave decent results(few were about the game), I added "Level 9 Computing" to it. Then I added "datasoft" to it. Both gave under 100 results.

Knight Orc is another one, that seems better known(odd, considering it's a text game).
