I would've said a stuffed animal, because I love stuffed animals....but that's too easy to go and pick one up.  But I'm going with something sentimental.  I think if it's just anything that you know the person spent some time looking for, then it's sentimental.  However, if it's a stuffed animal and it's sentimental...then that's just as good!

I completly agree with Koko, but... I think sentimental items to me are more like... I don't know, sometimes even sad things.

I have some cute pieces my godmother used to do for me, she was a ceramist just like my mom, and one day she died... and the things I had in my room turned out to be a bit sad, I remember once one of the ceramic pieces fell down and broke... ack, I completly went crazy over it,  so I started to put them away

That's why I think I would rather have new things for me to give them a meaning, instead than keep looking back... but that's just a personal statement anyhow.

If one of my close friends had a special special thing with a strong sentimental value like that and they gave it to me, obviously it would mean a lot to me they did that, but the sentimental value is theirs, not mine directly, so it's easier to deal with it. I believe.

I'd rather have something sentimental. My boyfriend gave me a necklace once at a school dance last year and I haven't really taken it off. My worst enemy could give me a $100,000 gift and my best friend could give me a gift she made herself and I'd love my friends gift more. Plus, I'd get to pawn the enemy's gift and rub the money in their faces!!!

CD, because it's not expensive for my friend, I am addicted to music (crack addicts have no idea how bad it is! ), and generally easy to get, and practical for someone like me.  Definitely going to get used.

A computer game.
Not just any computer game, but one I would like, or at least an effort in that direction. For once, I'd like to get a gift that shows the giver knows something about the stuff I'm interested in, instead of just getting something girls are supposed to like because they didn't have a clue.

Gifts people give you can tell a lot about how well they know you. My brother once bought me the Ally McBeal soundtrack CD... that sums it up pretty nicely
